Ok, I give up. Just got the H9 P-51 and wanted to put drop tanks on it but Top Flite quit making the 75 gal version and NO ONE seems to have anything like it anymore? Can't find Vortec for bombs either.

What's the world coming to? Any ideas? I used to have an EZ P-51 45 size that had great drop tanks that would be about right size wise, but can't find those either?

Thanks

Yellow Aircraft is now making bomb releases.
They are not listed on their site.... But call them.

Frank Tiano ( www.franktiano.com) has 1/8 scale bombs for sale.

I too plan to add bombs to my H9 51

I also found a bomb here that is perhaps better sized than Franks. It's the drop tanks that are driving me nuts.

I am in the final steps of completing my 75 gal drop tanks. I made them out of white bead foam and then drilled a hole and epoxied a dowl into them. Once the dowl was dry I chucked it up in a drill and with the trigger pulled I used sandpaper to give the shape I wanted. I was workin on the wing stand offs but I think I will buy some from Top Flight. I am hopping that all my graphics come in so I can fly it this weekend.

Funny, I am working on a pair right now! My drop tanks came with my Giantscaleplanes.com 55" P47. They look great. I was able to buy a new cowl, so I think it will not be hard to buy just the drop tanks, either.
Mine are set up for vortacs, too...
They are nicely vacuformed plastic, look pretty scale. I think they look cooler than bombs.

I think that Vortec is no more. I can't find any info on them and TF is out of the stuff they had from them.
I have been using the Hobby Lobby bombs and releases for about a year now and like them. I wish they looked more lik the Vortec ones as the 4 screws that hold them on stand out a good bit.
