What adhesive should be used on the fiberglass parts in the Kyosho corsair ? I tried using standard 5 and 30 minute epoxy, but it just peels off of the inside of the fiberglass fuselage. Any suggestions ?

F30,

the abs plastic oil coolers can be glued with epoxy just lightly sand parts to be glued with 220 grit. What do you need to glue to the inside of the fuselage?

Hello,

I was gluing a mounting plat to mount the battery and receiver to. I like to glue a flat piece of lite ply into the fuselage in order that I can rubber band the battery and receiver to it I did not like the idea of stuffing the receiver or battery under the servo mounting plate.

thanks,

F30,

I see, sounds good. I would continue to use the epoxy in conjunction with roughing up the glue area with 220 grit paper.

I had to move my battery above the tank and add weight to balance. Light O.S 52 for power.

I had to add 3 oz in the nose to balance. Mostly due to the location of receiver and batter behind the servos. I have a thunder tiger .61 pro in mine. I am going to use Stabilit from yellow aircraft for the adhesive.

Kyosho used polyster resin on the fuse. Epoxy resin will not stick to polyester very well. You have a couple of options. You can purchase an adhesive from Hobby Lobby or Yellow Aircraft called Stabilite. This adhesive allows you to glue wood parts to polyester resin. Or you can purchase some polyester resin. If you go the polyester resin route, I would suggest adding some milled fiberglass to the mixture. Either way you go, you should do one more thing to reinforce the part you are gluing to the fuse. Take some fiberglass cloth and apply it to the wood structure and the fuse to really hold it in place and distribute any load the wood structure may have on it.

You can use marine epoxy or fibreglass resin with glass cloth. Regardless of how much you roughen the surface regular epoxy will eventually lift. Hope this helps!
