    Hey Darcy,

That servo tray is really neat!!!
How did you make the templates conform to the fusalage??

Trial and error or do you have templates?

    MR G

    Hi Mr. G

The tray is actualy parts you can buy from Composite-Arf, it is the tray they us for the 3 meters and suce, I just cut it in half using only 2 servos in stead of 4 like it comes stock.
Now for the ribs they were factory formed to fit the 3 meters as well, I cut them in half and reshaped them to fit, then held then together inside and made a mark, cutting the pieces tight and regluing them in place.

    Hope this is helpful?

The tray is strong and light at the same time.

I was just informed that I will be needing X bracing for the fuse inside the canopy opening, this will provide the torsional stiffness required to keep from flexing, so stay tuned to see how I will pull this off.

All in all its really looking good!

    Hi Guys,

Most of you probably don't know me, i've been lurking in the giant scale pages here for a while now thinking about getting into one of these planes. Well, the moment came when Darcy was cought in a moment of Jet Lust, and we ended up in a "horse trade" I had the EXACT Jet in the EXACT color scheme for sale that Darcy was looking for, and he offered me a trade for his beautiful 2.6m Extra. We did the deal, and now i would like to continue onward with the buildup of this giant jewel here in this thread.

First and formost i need to toss a major prop out to Darcy, dude, you are the man Thank you for the deal and the hospitality from you and your Pops to me and my Pops.

OK, The plan is to continue on with the build/set up the way Darcy wanted it.....This is my first giant scale plane, and i know nothing about these beasts, and he said he'd be happy to help me get'er done so, hey, i'm not too stupid so,

    Darcy,

Glad you like the Superhornet, i just finished unpacking the car and going through every part of the plane and everything you gave me for the plane, and i must say, EVERYTHING is perfect!!! Yep, i'm totally stoked I allready did the first step we talked about, i fine tuned the inboard ends of the ailarons, and now they work smoooooooooooooth and silent, but still have nice tight gaps.

I have two or three days work on another unrelated project i need to finish for events that are coming up, and then this big beast will be on the bench, priority 1 for completion.

    Scott,
If this plane is your first giant scale, how are you going to realize how great it is? since you don't have other giant scale planes to compare it to. This airplane literally MADE Darcy, plus of course he could go and fly up towards 25 flights every single day for a year or so he he . Seriously though, you made a perfect choice of planes to step into GS with. It is true, predictable, forgiving, all the things women are not he he, and it will treat you right and reward you, again, unlike most women, shoot, did I really say that? .

I wish on a stinking hot day like today, that I was up in Big Bear.
