Apologies if this question seems a little banal or if its been asked many times before but my wife and I are looking for our next big project:

It's pretty subjective but what suggestions does anyone have for a complex and challenging (to build) but well-sorted large-scale kit?

We've just finished a Top Flite 1:7 Mustang and really enjoyed building it. We're now trying to get some ideas for our next build - priorities are really that the kit needs to be good quality, technically challenging to make and look very authentic. Oh, and the bigger the better!

Any ideas greatfully received..

All the best,

Darren and Joan

Contact one of the kit-cutters and have them laser cut a B-17 or B-24 kit from the large scale plans that are available.

Wow. That's open ended. Do you want WWI or WWII? Axis or Allied? Prop or jet? Is money an issue? There are just way to many variables. If you narrow it down some, I think you'll get a lot more suggestions.

Challanging and fun...

I would suggest looking into a 'short kit' form one of the many kit cutters, as suggested previously. Definietly scale, and a challange, as in you need to personally buy everythign else!!

And also, choose a plane that rarely gets chosen, like an ME 110, HE 111, a MiG 3, Yak, BV 141 .. etc..

DH Comet, the air racer.... there's a sweet choice!

WOW...did you say you and your wife? That has got to be every mans dream......unless she builds and flies better than you do. So you want something challenging ? Does that mean , Multi engine, past present or future, plans only , what is your skill level? These are the type of answers we will need to get you started.

Try looking into the Ziroli P-38, wingspan of 114". A friend of mine and I are in the process of building one now. Check out the "Ziroli P-38 construction" string, having a blast!
