LL, The only thing that I anticipate with the tank on the CG is that now my battery may be slightly forward of the other models with the stock location. But still I will target the CG that I am used to. As far as drape cords on the rudder, the Ministry has a patent pending on that application and you may need to apply for a special use permit. Joe

YO Yo Yo, Got my "Cline" fuel regulator today. Oh yeahhhhh !!! Now if only Quantum Models will ship my "Earnst" thrust plates, I could finish up on this. Looks like 3" to 7" snow for tomorrow. This is like Alaska. Later, Joe

U-CAN-DO 60 WARNING!!!!!! Be sure to frequently check the bolt in the front fuel tank cap!!!! This threads into a metal backplate and vibration can cause it to loosen and fill your fuse with fuel(nasty-nasty-nasty). I've always had plastic backplates and they stay tight. Yesterday was my fuel in the fuse day and I hovered a few times so I had a real mess...... MAINTENANCE .....Yes I know and I do but I never thought about that bolt loosening up...Check Yours..
    To all the dry fuse's,
    Eddie

so the ys 120ac i traded for will make a good engine for the ucd 60?

i guess i might as well make a list of the thing to do...

    fix lanfing gear area
glass the firewall and maybe even put in "pins"
find some kind of metal motor mount?

i still have pieces of my first ucd..it had os91fsII and was a pig...i am about 20 times better than i was when i had that plane...and i am hoping to have a freakin' 3D bad ass whith the ys120 on the nose..

wonder if there is ground clearance for a 17X6..?

what do you guys think...enough power or just stupid..? i do not have another engine to put on it...

If you have pieces left of the firewall you will notice that there is not a whole lot you can pin to. My thoughts were to install some kind of rods, wether aluminum threaded or thin dowels and go from the firewall to the next former in line. I think a YS 120 will at least taxie it. Good luck, Joe

    Kevin,...Hi..!
As you probabally have seen from this thread i'm in the process of putting my first UCD together i was going to use the .91 O.S.FSII in it...a couple of guys have said how well this combo is starting to work out, what where you not happy with..? regards Dave.

lord vulcan...it is in retrospect that i say i did not like the os91 combo on my ucd...it did tricks ok...pulled out of a hover(what hovering i could do back then) somewhat...and to be honest, i could not really do anything more than very short knife edge's (coupled all to be damned) snaps, harriers, and very shoprt hovering...

but now that i have become a LOT more 3D oriented, du eto foamy electrics with 3:1 brushless set-ups, i can say that for me, the ys will be a lot better...i know that i will be trying stoopid things like tail touches, rolling circles a few feet off the deck, crazy snaps and violent manuvers and things like this, and as best i can do them, you have to have an overabundance of "ooommph" to do them easily...if i can get 2:1 or even 2.5:1 with the ys 120 and 30% heli, then i will be happy...the plane may not survive even as long as my first one did, but at least i will have enough horse-pressure...

try an apc 15x4w on 30% and you will do ok...i am very close to sea level and that combo worked really well...i also liked a zinger 14x6 but it exploded due to an attempted harrier landing that kind of ripped the landing gear out....

    good luck..

if i were you, i would try to get a bigger motor..a saito 100 is also a viable motor..from what i have seen, they have a good deal more power than the os91 and weigh a little less...but find you a 120 or a 1.10fz if you can..i think you will be happier with it in the long run..!
