I'm looking into getting a basher just for fun in the back yard I've had an rc-10gt before and I'm looking to get a Rally car or a Monster truck I know the truck can handle launching off jumps but I also run in parking lots and street. Can rally cars trake a beating? obviously I know I will have somethings brake but anyone have any input? I'm looking to buy a Super Nitro Rally from HPI.

if i were you i would hold off on the super nitro rally and buy a rs4-3 then change it for rally... belt drives are far more efficiant for on road applications but when it comes to off road you want shaft drive...

start with a rs4-3 or EVO... find some taller shock towers and shocks/springs, anything to raise the ride height... then you will have a nice rally/on road basher...

the reason i say stay away from belt driven HPI for off road is the rear belt... you will constantly eat up that rear belt driving off road... i tore up enough of them driving on road...

or you could go with a buggy wich you can run off and on road with... ofna makes some nice buggies for a reasonable price...

whatever you do just remember belts are better on road

I've got a SNR and it seems pretty durable. While its not the right kind of setup for jumping, it does handle blows and blows pretty easily. Its based on the MT drivetrain, which is shaft-driven, so I'm not sure what Ko was getting to regarding the SNR vs. the RS4-3. I've rolled it, accidentially launched it off of a speed bump at near-full speed and the only time I've broken was a shock shaft when I hit a board at WOT. See what your buddies are running. Whatever you buy will be more fun if you've got friends who are running something similar.
