sherman-RCU -> What's hitecs stand on receiver channel changes?? (6/2/2002 12:19:44 AM)

I've heard this argument more times than I can count, so I'd like to get the official word.

I've been using Hitec receivers for many years and have no problem switching out a channel 15 crystal for a channel 60, and going straight into the air. I fly a LOT (at a fairly busy feild no less), and have been for years and have complete confidence in these receivers no matter what channel crystal I put in em. Then again, I use hitec modules in Futaba radios, so I'm not much for following manufacturers suggestions anyway. :p
Then there's the people who absolutely refuse to switch the original channel on any receiver, and they'll argue to the teeth about it.

SO, MIKE, what's Hitec's official word?? :confused:

Oh, and Mike, I imagine you must have a full plate already, so seeing you answer all these threads is that much more appreciated!! :D
You guys at Hitec ROCK!! ;) (did I say that already?? hehe)

At what frequency (channel) does Hitec tune their receivers.
How flat is the signal loss?

Center line tuned with less than a 2% loss in performance at either end.

Mike.

Mike

that means on ch 36 but the DC RXs are narrow band and a little off tunning can cause sufficient signal loss... Please make this clear.

I don't understand what you mean by "off tuning".

Hitec has very little problems with range or signal loss.

Mike.
