no idea about the stock position. i dont have a maximum st. dont worry about the stock position just about how well it preforms. if you could take a picture i might be able to tell you how to adjust it. there should be little sleves that go over the linkage wire, and they have set screws in them. you have to adjust it so that it pulls the brake wire further at idle position.

without brakes it wont be easy to stop. most likely at idle with no brakes it will move forward slowly. idle is considered the position when you dont tough the throttle. maybe you idle is too high. the brakes wont be very hard to adjust you just need a .05 allen wrench and a few mins of time to figure it out. then roll it on the ground and test the brakes when the engine is off.

ok. first take your air filter off. check to see how far open the carb is (is it rotary carb or slide?). you might want to disconnect the throttle linkage, and make sure that the throttle isnt being applied at idle position. if it is simply either adjust it on the controller untill its at no throttle at idle position or move the servo horn. if it isnt being applied when its at idle, the idle screw on the engine is way too high. you can adjust that by turning it counter-clockwise untill the carb is open about 2mm. hope this helps.
