Status: offline 		On the sheeting I used Gluit white glue. I stuck my sheeting down on wax paper using a spray glue. It releases when you are done. I cut the sheets as per instructions and I used left over wood from my scrap box for the canopy so I wouldnt have another seem there.

Status: offline 		The stab and Ele. were very simple to build. I found that the wood was pretty good although some of it was hard. It worked out great though because I used the hardest wood for the LE on my moving surfaces.

Status: offline 		I must have got one of the first kits out because I didnt have the ele joining wire. I really dont like to use wire on my ele. I like the hardwood setup myself. It just seem to be stiffer in the center than the wire. I always sheet the area over the glue joints.

Status: offline 		The rudder went together as easily as the rest. As you can easily see I enlarged the rudder pretty good. Dont ask......I just like a RUDDER.

You sad you sheet jointed areas can you explane I could not tell from pic how much you sheet for support?. Thanks for your time and pics giving a report on your build. Keep up the good work. Status: offline 		The entire fuse is sheeted with 1/16 balsa sheets. I did as the instructions suggested because I thought that would be the best way as well.. The instructions said to cut 4, 36'' sheets into 24'' and 12'' sheets. Or in other words cut 12'' off of one end. Then you have made eight 24'' sheets and eight 12'' sheets from the four 36'' sheets. These sheets, plus the remaining four 36'' sheets are glued together to from the fuse sheeting for both sides of the fuse. If you'll look close in the sheeting picture youll see that there are three seams. The botton sheet has a seam on the right. That is a 24'' sheet and a 12'' sheet on the right of it. The center sheet is two 36'' sheets together with a seam in the middle. The top is a 12'' sheet on the left and a 24'' sheet on the right. The sheeting for the other side of the fuse is opposite of this because I didnt want to have the same seam on both sides at the same place. Just seems to be reasonable to me for strength.

Status: offline 		Here is what I have done on my right wing.
It went together well.
In 1 weeks time
I have the fuselage, almost done,
horizontal stab and elevator done, except for the joiner wire
Vertical stab and rudder complete,
and this much on the right wing.

I lost almost a 1/2 hour trying to fiqure something out that was in the instructions. that I new I read, but I couldn't find it again. but after I figured it out, I saw it in the instructions.
on the right wing, rib-R1, the tab that bolts to fuselage points UP. (Thats the part it took me a little while to figure out.) Then your servo rails in your wing rib are facing up.

On the left wing, when you build it, the rib-R1 the tab that bolts to the fuse points DOWN. then the servo rails in our wing rib are facing down

Status: offline 		John Saito 100 get's my vote I have one on my U-CAN-DO it will be great for that plane. I think yours will build lighter than the U-CAN-DO. I have a new one waiting for a plane after reading flying reports on the YAK. Here a few pic of the real Yak's. And one the air show two years ago here at WA Seafair Sunday I took them from the internet . I got to see it fly What a plane it sold me.

One note though as the designer: The rudder has all the authority you can want in the stock size. Making it any bigger might cause the prop to hit the rudder when spinning! ha ha

Status: offline 		How much more would it have had to cost to get both wing panels printed in the plans, having to remember to reverse everything on the second wing seems needlessly complicated to me. Also why not put the wing tube in first before the ribs go down on the bottom spar. Im doing that myself, since the rib holes needs to be sanded a bit to get them to fit doing it after the wing is built can be a pita. Im not really complaining, but I can see where this might be tough for a new builder. So far It has been a fast and relatively easy build for me, The wing is very similar to the HRCMS ecstacy I built almost 2 years ago. But a newbie builder could have problems

Status: offline 		Why not just turn the plans over, wipe with little sewing machine oil on the backside (in wing area) and behold! Left wing plans. Then use some wax paper for a seal for the wood!

Yea it would cost almost $100 more just to print that extra wing panel! ha ha, no maybe only 99 bucks but really it's not complicated at all. Both wings are exactly the same except for the servo side and the rear tab of R1. The wings are quad tapered fully symetrical. It's not uncommon to have one wing plan for this style of building. Really the only thing to remember is flipping the R1 over the second time around. The servo bay is thus still built on the first side before flipping the wing over to sheet the other side. Seems pretty clear cut to me but then again I've done so many wings it seems natural to me. Nothing wrong with inserting the socket first either but I would definately not recommend gluing it in place until the rest of the structure is aligned, glued, and secure in place.

Status: offline 		One more question because Im not at home to see the info but as your building the right wing the rib guide tips the ribs towards the tip end at 89.5 degrees, when you build the left panel do you reverse that and and lean to the root?

Something about paying bills, I think. The 'NO' ringing in my ears kind of drowned out everything after that. So now, I sit with my tail between my legs, whimpering in the corner. Oh well, maybe one day...
