On the TZ queries, I would advice you to talk to 46U, as he has a TZ in his MT 1 3/4. I think this is the right header for the TZ, you might want to ask 46U though. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFAZ9&P=0 It says for the MT, but can be used with the MT2 I would think.

For the price I think its a great buy. Make sure you get the mt2 18ss or 18ss+ I think there the best of the mt2's I havent had any major plroblems with mine (besides the time I hit a curb at 40 mph)

You want a durable basher stay away from 1/10's and get 1/8

I agree with rclynx. 1/8th is much better for bashing. Its more durable and all around is a better setup. The MT2 is great for light jumping and racing. With the right engine and gearing its really quick.

i think yur all crazy.. the mt2 has been a great basher for me all winter. only breakage was in -20ish weather. things get brittle at those temps.
if hitting a curb at 40+mph is what it takes to break it.. and it is known for being very fast.. then why would you want to pay for a 1/8 when this 1/10 does the job nicely.

Same problem to me, its really tight between the cb and spur gear, my cb looks like its been polished. But now im running a OS 18CV-RX and with new engine mounts its perfect.

do u like the cv-rx much more then the g3.0???. i heard its easyer to tune but is it faster???. also dose anyone know how hard it is to put the os tz into a mt2???

I think the cv-rx is a bit faster and have a better bottom end. Very easy to tune and runs cooler, im using odonnel racing fuel 25% and thats works great for me. But the TZ is even faster but the diffs is really crap on this car. Ive got the heavy duty diffs on mine.
The TZ would fit right in just need another header. Go for that... its crazy

you can try a belted radial tire.. something with an aggressive tread. most enduring tire with half way decent grip on about any surface.
the belted tires do not expand with the high rpm's like standard tires and handle abuse much better. (don't need to re-glue them every time you get a little throttle happy)

in loose traction situations try dirt hawg

For 30 series tyres, you need 30 series rims, stick to 2.2's If you want big tyres try moabs, if you want traction, the lugnuts.

Hope this helps,

Here is my winter project ready for a summer of action.
The whole drive train has been upgraded to heavy duty 18SS+ components.
Also added:
Titanium turn buckles.
Graphite shock towers.
GRP tires.
New Era role bar.
GMP aluminum steering knuckles.
Traxx 2070 high torque steering servo.
Also got the nice sleek new blue body from the G3.0 on ebay.

Later I will be adding the new era rear wing set.

Thanks caspar21

About $150. I carefully selected most stuff on ebay to try to maximize my savings. It would have been a lot more if purchased elsewhere.

mark_y,

I would put the rear shocks in the center hole. I have had mine for 5 years now and have found that to work the best. In the top hole the truck likes to bounce over itself and laying it down slightly fixes that.

Just sharing the info.
