Both the 80" and 100" Ravens were kitted by a company called "AERODYNAMICS" in the mid 90's.discontinued.Check with Albert if you happen to meet him, he'd probably be able to shed some light on where to get the kit, there maybe some kits still around.Or you might want to check with some of the KIT CUTTERS on the net, they might be able to help.I think I still have the plans if you're interested to do your own kit cutting.

Kit cutting ... not for me. I am not looking for such a big plane, one of the other guys is. For me I am eyeing the Pilot Raven ARC, think its lovely. After flying the small Raven I want a bigger one. The plane handles so well ... I love it, no nasty habits at all. Did not experience any stall during landing and take offs were so easy.

Tianci,

Good for you, its rare nowadays to see people helping out others they don't know. If more of us do that the hobby will definitely grow

I am not far behind you ... next project happens on 20th June. So We are in the same boat, just that I get to steal some time on the weekends to fly a little. No more weekday morning sessions now ... anyways 20th June is not far away! Will see you after that.

I learnt one thing today, we CANNOT just leave a newcomer to his own devices, he will take one of our planes down for sure, what good is money then esp, if someone gets hurt. We all need to be more pro-active. Any comments?

Overseas they have a safety officer, if your plane does not pass the safety check then you will not be allowed to fly. Can we bother enough to ensure something like that? If we worry about being labelled BUSYBODY then one day, we will lose our own plane to a newbie.

Overseas, they have frequency control boards and club fields. Even if we fly at an "outlaw" field, I think it's a natural form of self-preservation to keep track of who's flying on what frequency, and if that means keeping a lookout for newbies, etc., then that's what must be done. I'd even say get a bunch of the people who fly there together over coffee and see if you can get some sort of formal frequency control scheme in place (i.e. someone needs to put up a frequency board). Sure, there will be people who will ignore it, but if they ever shoot anyone down, everyone will know whose fault it is. Peer pressure can be pretty effective, sometimes.

One of the reasons I've not gotten into RC as yet is all this nonsense going on. I'm not really afraid someone's going to shoot me down (I don't intend to fly anything other than small, light electrics anyhow) but I AM afraid of shooting someone else down. Or getting hit by someone's plane, for that matter, while standing on the flight line. Some of the people who fly at the field are nuts.

Hi fellow Malaysian flyers, it’s great to see all Malaysian flyers in one place although we don’t fly at the same place.
