The Kapar site?? I know about it, and yes it is private as the guys who fly there don't want a rowdy crowd like in Sg. Buloh.

You were at Sg. Buloh on Sunday?? I was there in the evening, flying my Zagi also. The red and yellow, with blue and white on the bottom. I was the one who got my finger jabbed by the pushrod, when I tried to catch it.

Easy to spot me though, at present I am the only indian guy flying one of these

Hey, why don't you guys post some pics of your flying sites and such, so those of us waaaayyyyy over on the other side of the planet can see what are probably some beautiful flying venues?

Oh ... its spelt Kapar ... I got my BH from Wong so Zul says he can get me in. I did hear that they do not want 'rowdy' pilots there. Same in Batu Caves too ... I will want to go to Bt Caves this weekend perhaps. Too many people will fly at Sg Buloh since its the holidays. My group will rest and go watch others fly. We are all beginners and we need a lot of space!

I was there in the morning ... my little group of beginners are there on Mon/Thu/Sat mornings. Ok ... only Indian with a Zagi ... I am one of the many Chinese, hahahaaaaa ... Mine is all yellow on top, and red and white stripes below. You will know
its me when you see RC Car stickers on the plane!

It ain't a pretty sight (no pun intended) ... you guys on the other side of the world have proper sites, meaning it belongs to a club etc. not to mention a runway. We just find some nice open land that has been cleared for some building project! Still I will try to get some pictures up ...

Night flying session at Amcorp will not be on this weekend.

However, I matrying to get a group to do it on the 27th of February 2004 (next Friday). All those flying electrics are welcome to join in, meet at HobbyTech around 7pm onwards, then flying will start at around 8.15 pm after Wee closes shop.

Hope we can get at least 6 planes in the air at once, as I want to record the event on video.

All those interested to participate just come along on the day, no need for RSVP

You should have seen the Monday morning session ... 3 most interesting incidents. 3 planes on 3 different occassions 1 common problem. They lost their UC and had to belly flop. One Edge 540 (78"), one Magic Extra and one Extra 330 (Lim's). What more can you ask for! Hahahaa ...

Home made la, Aircore stuff is too heavy, they alway use 6mm. The first one we built and flew was even bigger, 72" WS.

Still in the process of building one with a mid-engine, and thinking about a swept forward wing design also.

If things go well, maybe another weird design will pop up this weekend

If you saw that, why didnt you come up and introduce yourself????

Saw you busy playing ... I am sure you will know me when you see me. Anyways, will say hi to you this weekend! I think a swept forward wing will be totally kewl. How to order one of your wings? Hehehee ... most tempting ... is it hard to fly?

Its not hard to fly actually, it handles the same as a Zagi, with a bit more stability at speed. However, it also has the bad tendencies of the Zagi, as in the tip stall at low speeds, and the spin of death. Don't compare it to the mini Zagi from ST Models though, as that one is very light and is much more stable at low speeds.

If you can handle a low wing plane, this won't be a problem, just remember to keep it above stall speed and enjoy it. Inverted flight is stable, again, as long as its at a reasonable speed.

If you want a more stable version thats easier to fly, then the 72" version will be better, still uses a 46 size engine, so no extra cost involved on your equipment. The larger wingspan makes it less twitchy, and its also not as fast as the smaller version.

As for ordering it, I don't sell planes as its not my business, and I hardly have time to build even my own planes, let alone for others. I will check with my sifu, and see whether he is selling it direct or selling it through Hobbytech, and let you know.

Trust me I learnt about the Zagi stall and spin of death! It happened a few times to me as I was trying to see how slow it could go. But it does slow down heck of a lot. Yes, I would be keen to get a flying wing, the more stable the better, I love speed but not a speed freak. I have grown bored of my Scanner and I guess I should be able to handle the wing. Let me know. Thanks!

do you guys still fly the zagi at the field?....wee told me they are flying at the field at nite...so keep me update when is the next flight...by the way are you all using the li-poly pack that wee sell?...i fly mine with ni-mh pack from pasar road....get about 20 minutes flight time...how bout yours?...i am planning to build the SIG wonder...have any of you have any experience on this speed machine?.so you all seems to fly in sg.buloh...have you ever tried kapar.....its a big site actually...we have arunway there about 300feet...to mu opinion its short....recently we have chip in some money to cut the grass and its a great flying site at the moment...(till the grass grow)...the only problem is the distance to me.I read some of you said its a private...to my opinion there is no such thing as private in malaysia...the only reason i dont fly in sg.buloh is because of the amount of speed freak there...i 've been there a few time and what i notice....you guys don't check your frequency among yourself....thats scare me...there is this one time....when lim (bean sprout lim) arrive....he unload his super decathlon , start the engine and off it go....that freak me out...maybe i am wrong...since you guys might remember each other frequency.....i apologize if what i say is wrong...how bout flying near my house....i stay in Puchong...and if am lazy to drive.. i'll just fly there...very big site....wee have seen the place.....i used to fly float there.....anyone of you have any experience flying float....i really need some advise on this float stuff...anyway i think i am talking too much....glad to know malaysians are here chatting about this hobbies.....

Benson ... talking to much is okay ... if not the thread will be so boring la. Sg BUloh is ok, yes there are speed freaks there but its not that bad. People there do do a frequency check. I fly on week day mornings a lot. I still fly on Saturday mornings so as to socialise with other flyers.

I was told that Kapar is like 'private', means you are best off getting one of the people there to intro you to the site, Zul is suppose to take me there. Your suggestion for Puchong is interesting, I know someone who lives in that area and is a newbie to planes, he has flown there somewhere before. I would not mind going, I can get a few of my kakis to go along. Let me know.

The SIG Wonder is fast if you put in a nice OS32, will be like a rocket. I might take up your offer to purchase one, give me a call ok. You got mynumber right?

Yeah I agree that Sg. Buloh is dangerous in teh sense that some of the clowns there don't bother checking frequency. I know of 5 guys who do that regularly, just can't be bothered to check at all. No one can rememebr each others frequency, I have three radios on 3 different frequencies, whos going to remember that?? Some people are just plain irresponsible.

The wonder is very fast with a 32, remember its meant to fly with 09 to 19 only. Wee has crashed 7 of those with a 32 and tuned pipe ( he told me right when i bought mine). Kapar is not really private, its just that **** Wong claiming that its private. Maybe when i get the new site at Bukit Rimau I should ban his group???

Just kidding, the new site will be open to all, but the rules will need to be followed. Hopefully it will be ready next month
