I heard like Wee's Wonder was so fast that the firewall gave way ... Bk Rimau ... sounds mighty good for all. I am sure that my friends and myself will be there. Of course rules will be required, keeps things a little more sane.

Hi all Malaysian Flyer,
I am a fellow Malaysian. I live the States (New Jersey). Been here for the past 20yrs. I am actually shocked that this RC hobby is active in Malaysia. What a pleasant surprise!!!!. I too am an RC flyer and belong to a local club in New Jersey. I just started about 9 month ago and never knew I would be this addicted to his hobby. I fly the Hobbico Avistar Trainer, AT-6 Texan from Hangar-9, and a bunch of electrics as well. Just love it.

I will be actually visiting Malaysia in the next couple of weeks (late March). I was hoping to find some local hobbyy store and maybe buy some parts like brushless motors etc. From the first look of it sounds like it is more expensive than in the States. Is that true??

Also if possible I would like to hook up with some of you folks up there during my visit. Please let me know if that is possible. My email is: kris@frontlinetech.com

Looking forward to your replies.

Thank you
Kris

Kris ... good to have you here, please drop by more often. Yes, I found out that RC planes are very much alive in KL. I used to fly like 20 years ago and I just got back in 2 months back. From what I know there are 3-4 active flying sites in KL. People fly at Kota Damansara (where most of us do), Kapar (in Klang area), Kota Kemuning (new township near or after Shah Alam area I think) and also at Batu Caves. Seems that there is a site in Puchong that is good too ... I am going to check that place out.

Brushless? Get it in the US. A simple 540 brushless by NOVAK for cars will set you back RM1,000.00. I hear its a lot cheaper overseas. I am sure we would all be glad to hook up when you are back ... PM anyone of us here!

Best price for brushless motors with controller, if you want either Aveox or Mega, is at castle creations, as the sell it as a package. I got my Mega 16/15/3 with Phx 35 controller for RM 680-00 including shipping. electrics are expensive here, much cheaper in the states, I even order my batteries from the states.

Ksubram, feel free to contact us and meet up when your here.

Selamat Datang/Welcome Kris to Malayisan Hangar!

RC is very alive in Malaysia but the rc scene in Malaysia does not progress much in terms of skills in international competition. Just my observation, but the Thai's are waaaay ahead in these field. As for myself I'm from East Malaysia as in Sarawak. The only thing that is cheap in Malaysia is the FOOD ( pssstt!........or maybe the CD's). If you were to shop for rc products in these region go to Singapore. They have a lot of stuff with good prices.

Have a safe journey back.
