Status: offline 		Hopefully tommorow I will have another target for the zagi's to chase, have cut a PBF and a Delta from Depron. Now if I can get them finished in time will be a blast.

However I also need to finish my Sukhoi, and I just got my UCD3D built up by winston, dying to fly that also

I am hearing of many who want to boycott it, since its so obviously targeted at trying to sell one particular persons planes.

Guys, your opinions?

I mean come on, even if the LHS in Amcorp Mall were to co-organise this event he will promote his stuff, this is normal and most acceptable as long as he does not ban anyone from other shops (they done it in cars before, they meaning some idiots who run RC car shops in Penang). I mean if you have a product to push you will use all means to do it. Its just business la ...

I will probably go just to suppor the event per se, my policy is that I will buy from any shop that gives me fair prices and good service. I buy from Ah Wong, Ah Wee and Dayan. To be frank after all this time in RC I have learnt one thing, they are ALL out to make money and the margins are sometimes absurdly high. Just make a call to Singapore and you will see the prices there, don't talk about tax, the LHS gets DEALER prices.

If we all want to see the local RC scene grow then shops have to stop ****ing and we need to unite a bit more. I like the space ... I can't fly well at all but its nice to get together as hobbyists. Its called 'camaraderie'. The politics in RC is sad especially in cars ... I see it now a little in planes too.

Its a hobby ... let's have fun!!!

Status: offline 		Well its a hobby...business aside..let them fight......as far as we consumer is concern....pricing....what we want is a fair deal..i shop most of new plane in singapore now...as you guys mention too much politics....the LHS is here kill their own market by creating hell alot of rumours.Just pray in the future the will be a genuine LHS that will really promote this fantastic hobbies.

Status: offline 		By the way have you guys fly a piper cub before?....i maiden mine today and found it awful....its a great plane....what the instruction say for the aileron is 20mm up and 7mm down....i haven't try it yet...what i do is mixing it with my rudder...this plane flys like a cow...One question have you guys own a big plane before?.....i really wonder how does this plane handles compare to the 60 size?...there is one 2nd hand Great plane giles 202 comes with a saito 180....selling for about 2500 ...what i worried most is the glow fuel consumption for such size engine....in my place there is one flyer using a bgx and the consumption...its like quarter of a gallon for just 10minutes....any advise...or should i opt for gasoline?....

Status: offline 		Well, considering that its meant to be a carnival aimed at improving the hobby, then the whole thing shouldnt be biased to just one persons product. Its sad because this is the same stupid idiotic behaviour that killed the hobby a long time back in Malaysia. 20years back when i started flying, carnivals like this were done at least 8 times a year, then everyone started playing politics and "silly buggers" which killed the hobby.

As far as I know the LHS in singapore aren't as bad as ours when it comes to politics, thats why they survived so long.

Benson, the saito is a good engine, however the bgx is NOT. A number of people are not happy witht he bgx, so be careful. Saito has a great reputation, so I would go with that. BIgger planes are defintiely easier to fly and more stable in windy conditions.

Status: offline 		Well ... let's put it this way. Is there any other LHS that is sponsoring the show? Its about money ... but politics are bad and they ALL do it, I see it happening, how they will maneuver to stop another. They all do it ... sad case.
