Mike I don't think that's any ones intention but got to tell you Number mumbo gumbos aside>>>>>>>>>>>>>I was a teenager in the Mid. 1960s and I tell you :"the sound " in our high school parking lot was memorable to say the least.... Chevelles, Road Runners,Machs,Torinos, and Modified 50's stuff all starting their engines shortly after the bell ---Like Wow man! totally fantastic. Then around 74 a friend at work bought a new Mazda Rotory and well bragged a bit..he certainly liked it, At that time I had parked in the same employee's parking lot my first big body 72 Mustang Coupe with a stock wat you ma call it 351 Cleveland, which was a highway star unless of course a radar gun put you into the pitts so as to speak

daveopam,
Do I have to actually scan some 12.2 - 12.3 second slips? My web site gives the numbers. I might be able to scan tonight. All that relates to the car is there in boxes since the move. I'll try. The quickest slip that I know I have is a 12.23. The high 11 slips are gone.

No drag strip gives you a 0-60 mph time. You're thinking of 60 ft time. I'm not really good at that. On my site, they are 1.8 - 2.3 seconds. I do better than that now, usually 1.7's.

There is no bog when I dump the 6-puck at 5500 rpm.

800 - 1000 lb less than 2800 lb?

Why are you telling me that I'll get beat by the 12.4 car when I've already told you that I'm quicker than that?
Mike

ramcfarland,
I was in high school in the mid 70's. I remember those sounds. I still Love those sounds.

Unfortunately, all of those cars were worse in every economy, performance and safety aspect than today's cars and my RX-7. It hurts, but it's the truth.

I have a magazine here. It's entitled "1969 Supercar Annual". It proves that, as an example, that the 1969 Chevelle with 396 was a 15 second car. My Mom's Toyota could take it.

I was giving you crap about how quick that thing is. Your stock body RX with a full intierior weighs 2800lbs? How can that be? what have you done to shave pounds? Maybe taking the fire ext out of the back seat would save another 5lbs. lol

By the by most of this is me giving you a hard time. Over the years many people have bragged about having a 12 second car. If you've been around a while you've heard the same crap. I once had a guy tell me his small block kit car would run 10.50s. I bet him a $100 my Suzuki GS 1100 would out run his ass. After all it would only run low 11s. He lost and only had $40. on him. I wonder where my other $60 is??????

Good luck with you RX but low 3 second 0-60 times I just can't swallow.

daveopam,
Why do you continue to have a conversation with someone that you think is lying?

I won't continue.

I have six Jack Stafford B-24's here. Do I have to take a picture to be able to prove that to you?

Okay, I won't bow out of this thread. Please, tell me what I have to do to be able to prove a mid three second 0-60 time to you. Why is not a 7.8 second 1/8 th mile time enough for you?

Hey, I do 45-105 in less than six seconds without changing out of 3rd gear. It kinda bogs in 3rd at 4k rpm as I get going.

I ate a 385 bhp Corvette Z06 from 45 mph to about 100 mph. I didn't change out of third gear. He was a great guy. He tinted my windows the next week.

I ate a Dodge Viper GTS(?) at the track. He came in on a trailer and had Mickey Thompson rear tires. He ran a 12.42. I ran a 12.26.

Old people seem to have a hard time with the modern stuff. I should know, I am 42.

Any place you look will list the 1987 RX-7 TII at 2825 lb.

Hi Fast Richard,
Nice ride. I just picked up a 1967 "S" code factory GT, 4 speed, Acapulca Blue. Have a lot of documentation, I'm the third owner. Awesome car. I have a like new set of Magnum 500's with caps and lug nuts for sale. $500 plus shipping. These wheels have 1 mile on them. Decide to put Torque Thrust "D"s on it.
Thanks,
Fred Menna Warbirds1@cox.net AKA Check6

'87 GNX approx 3500#'s, auto, loaded, 13.4,, stock..

Hummmmmmmmmmm very interesting being an older guy, I recollect Mopar as well... Picture the sceen: every time the new Barricuda 6 pack begins to loom large in my rear view I just down shift and pull away. and 'trust me' he had an open hi-way and was determined to catch me,much less pass me and my 72 Clevland Mustang; replicated in my restoration photo; which was the start and purpous of this post.

GEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
