I've gleaned a tremendous amount of information from this forum but I'm wondering about the definition of a troll.

TROLL--liar--trouble maker--false stories--phony--etc etc. Usually some one who starts a thread just to provoke controversy and or an argument. The scourge of forums!!!!

I always thought it was derived from the fishing term, to troll for fish. Someone who throws something out there just to see if they can get some bites whether they believe what they say or not. Just looking to start an argument or get attention.

Occasionally I have been accused of being a troll however, I am sincere in my opinions.

Trolls were more fun back when they were a funny looking storybook character that charged you to cross a bridge. I guess I'm showing my age.

The definition has been posted so this one is now closed as it has no RC content. Thanks Dave forum moderator.
