Why don't you contact your supplier and ask for a replacement board? I've only seen one fail and it was replaced within 2 days.
NO mini heli is going to be easy to fly - even for an experienced pilot. It takes a lot of practice and PATIENCE.

i learned by not bein afraid to crash ,get it up about 5 feet and try to bring it down without crashing, and if you crash the damage is usuelly minimul or none. you just got to get over being nervouse because when your nervouse you tend to over control or at least i did. also ditch the training gear

Hi
U have to have a jr crystal to control the gws receiver! And the crystal comes with the gws tx is only good for itself!
And I think U need a lot of time to learn . Because it isn't easy to control . Try to move your finger on the stick (ele , ali) slowly( just like try to balance a pen on your finger)!

Yes, the gyro board sucks. I have a Skylark the uses the same setup. I may have gotten about 6 hrs. use before it died. At $70 >$90 for a replacement, I just threw the the whole darn thing back in its box. Anyone want to buy a dead Skylark?

Dude why sale a skylark give it to us for free... that was a joke ... If u want to sell it take the your time to think twice ,.. because Aerohawk or ..Skylark has a nice platform to develop a nice working helicopter.. But u have to spent a aweful lot of money.. so I think its ur call.. If you go for piccolo .. you will be paying almost same mount of money to buy it.. as u will spent to upgrade this one. good luck and I think if you put to sale on ebay let me know .. I am looking for some cheap stock parts
thanks

Hi
Im new to the forum, and I have 3 aerohawks. There are alot of problems with the 'all in one' boards.
You said earlier that the gyro was on the front of the board and this is correct, it is a PIC16C711. That is the part # for the gyro and from my research I have found a site that sells just the gyro that would need to be soildered on. It still costs 40.00$ + shipping.

I am mad about the fact that 2 of the three chops I have have burnt boards.
All the forums say the same problems before during and if the board or gyro has gone bad!

The problem as I see it is no one going after the manufacturer of the heli or electronics!
I am in the prpocess of doing that now. I dont understand how people are content just buying more parts after thay have spent upto 250.00$ on a model!

I want to find out why so many people are having the problem, I am sure it is with the board and not individual error. After I research whats going on some more I would like to find out if there is a form of class action suite that could be started! I am contacting the Attorney General to see if this is a persuable case.

The aerohawk is a very flighable chopper but it is a shame when you buy a product and a few weeks later you have to buy another or spent just as much on parts to repair it!

Sorry for all the compaining off the get go, but I really think were getting shafted!!

Please dont get frustrated with rc helicopter flying, the aerohawk board problem is alot more common than you think! Your not alone.

Hehehe... well, that it because it my first time, but after awhile of flying my aerohawk and trouble shoot stuff. NOt i think it s not as bad as me or everyone said. And you said there is comon problem with the aerohawk board... or the mixing board... it happen to all micro all in one board... it because they fit everything in the same board and so small so compact... over due their job, so it doesn't last that long.... so far.. i got no problem with my board. But I think it soon will fried to... I guess you have to go separate... BUT.. as you said.. how come u spend 250 .. then u got to spend more for repair... that why i've been saying that we all should talk to each other and CUSTOM BUILD OUR OWN BEST HELI... meaning.. we all shold gather up which best part from which heli is best.. and put together a quality helicopter... and only have to spend 400-500.. for one super good heli...

I think freak is right. I have my aerohawk with alu swash, Hlg 2000, couple more metal parts. I just installed my Brushelss hacker. it fly great. Even inside my room.. I think its the parts that are weak.. but as a base heli aero hawk is great.. U have more then enough space to develop it.. and spent on alu parts, will never break, good stuff....I the dude with 3 aero .. I dont know wht u have been thinking. 250*3=750 you could have had HHgyro.. CP and 8 ch radio.. I am not going to spent my money on 3 aerohawk. good luck though... My suggestion go seperate and enjoy the flight. dont bother buying another PCB board

Wow, a class action suit...

Microsoft certainly deserves such attention, but a micro-heli manufacturer? Understand, these are relatively inexpensive models that allow many to decipher if they have an interest (or the patience) to pursue this great hobby. The all in one board on the Aerohawk is certainly not the best thing developed but gets you in the air enough to decide if you want to further your hobby experience in electric helicopters.

If so, you WILL spend more (separates, motors, replaced broken parts, upgrades, whatever),

and you will continue to love the hobby. If not, you may do something else.

The problem is that some users don't lowert their throttle immediately after a crash or strike and stall the controller causing it to burn.

Don't ruin the hobby for everyone else by making life difficult for the manufacturers who bring us affordable technology.

I have experience with electronics.

People saying something is burned out blah blah blah.

I say what is it whats wrong with it?

Their comment is Ahhh the gyro, I dont know????
Well I say get your voltimeter out and check what it is before make your own diagnosis.

I live Down South Oz.... And the AUS dollar is no good. Model Stores at the moment aren't stocking much electric heli stuff apart from GWS Mini Dragonfly, and ModelSport Hornet.
These have a pretty hefty price being that they've been shipped internationally.
But it would turn out cheaper to buy over the web myself.

I am thinking of a Smartech Aerohawk because obviously the price is good, and affordable for me being on a low income. But I have been hesitating.....After reading these posts.

tahustvedt, is probably correct. I had posted a poll in these threads, a few pages back.
the amount of people having problems with electronics were out numbered easily by people with other problems. Like motors, BUT these can be replaced and is cheaper.

But alot of the people not experiencing problems with their electronics, have not posted dozens of messages saying I hate Aerohawk yada yada yuda.....

If you have a main and, or tail blade rotor strike, Electronics in these machines will burn if the battery is still feeding current to electronics and motors! I promise you that!

So for my Final Thought.
I dont think the Aerohawk have these problems that people claim about electronics.
I think they're most probably responsible

AND PLEASE DO WHAT tahustvedt said, THROTTLE DOWN! I know he said after a crash ( no offence dude ) But he still meant throttle down just before the crash impact....

lol.... yep, your guy are right... so far i experience no problem with the electronic in my hawk yet... But the reason I had this post in the first place it because the dealer where i bought it from send me a un compatible reciever... which making me go nuts... and blame everything to the pcb board.. ..... But not it fine.. working great.. check out my other thread and look some of the mod i made...
