Well lets wrap this one up. Last things first.\ I did not trash anyone here. In fact I was extremely careful to post this in a way that no one has any idea who the builder was. Some of you have said I got ripped and shouldn't pay it. Some have said it was a fair billing. Some have assumed I am not familiar with the building process and work involved (not true). From my point of view this problem was the result of two failures. Mine, in not asking for and getting an exact price. The builder, in assuming I was willing to spend any amount and not asking if I realized what it was going to cost. I got trapped because I had contacted 3 or 4 builders from around the country here on RCU. The highest price quoted to me was $350. When I talked to the actual builder it just never occurred to me that it would cost that amount. I made the classic "assumed" mistake. Not picking up the plane was really not an option. I had $550 tied up in the kit, engine (Irvine.72), digital mini servos and misc parts. I picked the plane up this afternoon. The builder and I agreed we had messed up and settled on a price of $550. I was satisfied for a couple of reasons. First, as many have stated, I made the deal. Second, he did a beautiful job; as good as I have ever seen. He also made a few changes I had not thought of that enhanced the appearance. His building work appears to have been superb. So, thanks for all the input. When I get her all setup I'll post some pics of the bird that started this all. Steve
