Hi

Sorry lads I have another question

Do I need and do you blokes use Tuned pipes on the YS 110??

The price is $300 for hatori pipe and header for the YS 110.

It just makes the motor cost me $950 with the fuel tank and engine mount and 4L of YS fuel mix added in.

It's becoming very expensice plane.

No

You do not need a pipe. It has no effect over the power of the engine. Just make the plane quiter and thoughs the oil out from the rear of the wing. I have used both the Hatoui setup and the standard pipe. Both will work just s well on the Ad.., just a case of personal prefrence.

Cheers

Kris

Just finished my adrenaline120, weighs in at a mighty heavy 174oz this is with an os120 with a tuned pipe, the instructions say 130.5oz no way I have added this onto the model, what do yours weigh???

Cheers

Hi Lowflying,

Mine (until it tried to fly through a fence) was 4.5kg (158oz) fitted with a TT120, tuned pipe and on board glow. You should note that the TT120 weighs 130gm (4.6oz) more than the 120AX so this equates to your model weighing 4.37kg (154oz).

My neighbour has one with a 120AX and it weights about 4kg (140oz) so there is probably some differences between models at the factory.

I think the specified weight range is a bit light on however I must say my plane flew beautifully, just loved it. In fact, I just received my replacement in the mail today so it will be interesting to see the weight difference. This one is the updated version in the blue & yellow color scheme so there might be a bit of difference due to this.

You might want to weight your model again with another set of scales, it sounds very heavy and would give you a wing loading of 28.2 oz/sq ft.

All the best, Twoturnspin

After a some effort, I took the original (white & red) Adrenaline weight down to 3850gr (135oz) with a YS110. There are some weight saving mods you can do (see early pages in this thread), but I am not sure whether they are applicable to the new "improved" version. In fact, when I saw the specs on the "new" version I immediately purchaced a second "original" version as I did not think that a split wing set-up would be lighter than a joined wing....

My 0.1c.

Thanks for response, does seem mine is heavy, I have done a rough calabration of my fishing scales and they seem correct. The adrenaline is the new yellow white blue two piece wing one, I have a an os120 fs (4stroke) 864gm(30.5oz), a tuned pipe+header(say4oz) , ali mount (2oz), also a 5cell 2400 nicad pack 300gm, (this could be halved) 5 futaba 3050servos, one 3001, and thats about all I have added to the basic kit! wish I weighed the individual components now! I wil check with some different scales at some point, but cant think where 20oz has come, it balances fine no extra weight, with the just battery aft of the Wing tube. Ah well just have to fly it and see! then maybe invest in a YS140!

Cheers

Would all of you with moki 135 at the front of your adrenaline 90 mind posting a photo of your mounting orientation? I wanted a simple install of engine with standard silencer so have been contemplating mounting the engine at an angle so the exhaust exits centrally at the bottom of the firewall which would mean the cylinder head being at about 7oclock as you look at the front of the model.

thanks in advance.
Dave

Hey guys,
I been flying the Adrenaline 90 the older red and white colour scheme for a few weeks now. Its got a Magnum 120 fs up front spinning a 16X7 prop and it seems like its a little over propped. I guess my question is does going from a 16x7 to a 16x4w make a large difference in 3D flight performance. I've also picked up a 15x6 for pattern, would it be good enough or would a 14x8 be better for pattern....

I would think a 14x8 would be better for pattern (but I don't really know the performance of the Magnum). You probably need to take a few different props to the field and try them out. A friend of mine is running an Adrenaline with a OS120 4s and he is using an APC 14x8 and feels it is a good fit. We are both going to a Pattern Comp this weekend at Tin Can Bay so I guess I'll see it for myself then.

I have tried APC 16x6 (freestyle) and 15x8 (pattern) with an OS 120FSs and a YS110 good results on the red/white Adrenaline MkI. Depends on the "feel" youre after, though...

Just a little flight report for the Adrenaline Mk1, 16X4 is defiantly one of the better choices for 3d with the Magnum120 fs. Hover and harriers all day, it does pull out of a hover but it’s not a rocket, unlike like my YT international Katana 60 with a Magnum90 up front. I've had a chance to try the 14x8 and 15x6 and they were both great pattern props no complaints there .

i have the red & white adrenaline but i'm finding it difficult to make a decision on the engine. i'm thinking either the OS 120ax or a ASP 120fs, so any comments welcome.

my intentions are to fly pattern with this plane.
