WerHop -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/6/2004 8:12 AM)

Hi Guys,

I am interested in the long-EZ, where can i get a plan for the 1:5 scale models, I would like to consider this model for my next project once my current one has been completed.

What engine would it use?

thanks

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/6/2004 8:05 PM)

there is a company putting out a kit at the moment, but cant remember the name of them. there is also a giant canard like it, but its a arf, and a pretty penny.

Joe Spitfire -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/6/2004 8:15 PM)

Go here....NOW!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19164&item=5924390424&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I am posting this at 2:14 Central on Wednesday. This is the original St. Croix kit that I have!!!

Someone else is kitting it now, but I'll get back to you on who it is. This is an Ebay bid that ends in 6 hours!!!

Joe...

Send a PM to nmnative. He had one Boxer (St Croix) Long Eze left when I bought one from him a couple of months ago.

He also has a website: http://www.cloudninerc.com/

Any 40-46 2 stroke or 50-70 4 stroke is fine.

Don

PS: the larger Velocity that Dago is taking about is at Experimental Aircraft Models: http://www.rchomebuilts.com/

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/18/2004 10:07 PM)

my long EZ, test flight maybe next weekend. was going to be this sat, but I didnt feel up to it.

cloudnine -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/23/2004 2:34 PM)

Looking really nice there Dago Red. Hope the test flight goes well.

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/25/2004 5:35 AM)

WELL.......
The test fligh t went great. Took off great, and with ease. Many statements about rough grass runways unsutable for the Long EZ, False. Mine took off great, a bit of tweaking and it flew better. The landing was very smooth, the fair looked great.

2nd flight....
Took off better. Flew much faster than the first flight, kinda scared me. The engine leaned out, and didnt make it back to the field, made a rough landing in a cow field, damaged contined a bent gear, hears the pics.

Joe Spitfire -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/25/2004 1:22 PM)

The EZ looks good! Looks even better flying!!!! [;)]

So, it was fast, huh? Did it spook you a little? Consider me warned....

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/25/2004 7:19 PM)

Thanks for the compliment, Joe Spitfire.

It ws faster than i had expected. Spooked my quite a bit. It flies a bit differ from a regular plane, but is alot of fun.

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/27/2004 11:52 PM)

Seems like the amount of Long EZs out there is small. The Amount of airwirthy EZ's is smaller. any left?

hattend -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/27/2004 11:57 PM)

Mine has been superceded (again) by another project. The AKM Mig 29.

Hope to get back to the Long Eze soon...no hurry here though as winter has arrived...no flying until April.

Don

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/28/2004 3:58 AM)

Heres some old school pics of the EZ before her face lift.

Joe Spitfire -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/28/2004 4:47 PM)

That really looks nice!!!!! Do you have a front retract?

Does your EZ have an air brake? Sounds like it may need it the way you say it flies! My St. Croix version calls for one...

I MAY drive over to see you next weekend...

Joe

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/28/2004 7:08 PM)

I plan to install a retract in the future, the one on right now is trying to retract and it isnt a a retract. I have the St. Croix version, it dosnt have airbrakes, maybe I will istall them.

Come on down, we'll have fun!!!!! Our funflys always turn out great, even when the weather sucks. Hope to see ya there!!

Heres a pic of it a few weeks ago at our Hughen funfly.

cwesh -> RE: Long EZ owners( Mine Flies finally!!!) (10/28/2004 10:39 PM)

Nice Long there, but..... oh oh ohohhohohoh

it's...... silver! ARGH! [:D]

Real Long's are white! (With stripes of course!)

I had a 1/5 scale one I scratched built back in the early 80's. Once I got the balance right, it flew good! That is until I got this one:

Later!

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/29/2004 4:49 AM)

Why does it need to be like every other one out there. The Airforce has one that is flat gray.

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/29/2004 5:29 AM)

OH YA!!! My Long EZ had a scale scheme, but its under the aluminum take that is on it now. If i peel off the tape, it will be scale again, but the scare will show from its bum up 3-4 years back. Pics a few posts above of it in flight nefroe it bumed up

Dago Red -> RE: Long EZ owners (10/29/2004 5:49 AM)

Joe Spitfire

Just found out. We will be having a real fullscale Apache Heli fly to our field, and will be on display. You wont want to miss this event!!!! Anyone that can, come on out, fly with us.A warbird from any era is welcome
