I’ve been wanting to purchase a small electric for a little while now. I fly my fix pitch really well (you can’t get real fancy with a fixed) and I’m still getting use to my Raptor. This was sent to me via email the other day and although it’s fixed, it’s dirt cheap.

However, I would like a small electric variable pitch (cheap). This would help me learn to control my Raptor without fear of wrecking it trying to get use to it. But the el cheapo fixed pitch would also allow me to get my nephew involved in Heli’s too.

What do you guys think about the Aero Hawk (in the link below). And what suggestions do you have on a micro variable pitched electric? (the cheaper the better).

I was also thinking about getting this heli when I saw the add. I think for not much more though you can get a variable pitch electric for around $260 complete from Century but not sure about that I'll have to check it out.

I just got the GWS micro fixed pitch heli. It is a handful! I'm just into mild 3D with my Fury and Raptor 50V2. I thought this thing would help me with nose in and a couple other weaknesses I have. I've yet to hover out a full battery back before dorking it. In my defense, I only have about an 8' square area I'm flying in. Flying this one reminds me of the old days before gyros and collective pitch. The aerohawk looks like it shares some of the GWS parts but it obviously a different heli.

I would imagine the hornet CP would be better/easier to fly but it will still be a handful!

You'd be wrong! I have a Hornet CP. It's nothing like my Hummingbird, which flies very much like an Aerohawk I flew for a friend. Either one of these are about 10 times more stable than the Hornet. Mine is virtually unflyable. I too fly nitro (Hawk Sport) and have had a half dozen heli's to date. I thought the Hornet would be easy after all the experience I had. After my experience with the Hornet I was telling people to stay away from micro heli's. Then I flew a Aerohawk and realized all micro's weren't alike. My Hummingbird is a piece of cake compared to the Hornet. Obviously not as stable as a larger nitro, but decent.

Regards,

Mike

I recently purchased the Aerohawk thru Hobby Lobby, and I can't stop flying it. I am also fairly new to helis, and it was much easier to fly and much more stable than the ECO Piccolo that I previously owned. Lots of fun and well worth the money.

Good Luck!

Ok, I threw everything on the scales to see how well it balanced out.

Bad review, good review, ok review, not so ok review……………

I couldn’t stand it, my curiosity tipped the scale.

I’ve ordered the Aero Hawk. I’ll give a review of my own in time.

Thank you gentleman for your worthy appearance and replies.

BTW. For extra parts for the Aerohawk, try Raidentech. I tried ordering some extra parts thru Hobby-Lobby, where I purchased the machine, and they were backordered til who knows when. Raidentech had everything in stock and shipped it out the same day. Very pleased with their service. That's where I'm going for parts for the Aerohawk from now on.

Hey, thanks for that little tid bit.

Got their website bookmarked so I don’t have to go “What was the name of that thing again?”

I can’t wait to get it.

Thanks again.
