Maybe I will see you at Skymasters Float Fly in September. I am planning to bring all my North Stars and Arrows to sell some. I have way too many planes.
Would you ship?
Where is the skymasters float fly? I may have to make a road trip
Impressive collection
Jon

I'm really impressed with your Dornier. I attended the Skymasters Flat Fly a couple years ago and was impressed with the quality and variation of float planes. I hope you bring the Dornier this year as I'd like to see it. I'm flying a Northstar and having a good time with it. If I can make it I'll bring it in September.

K.O. I am planning to come. The only problem might be the number of planes I can bring in my van. I am planning to bring three new planes, SPECTRA II, THURSTON TEAL II and electric NORTH STAR. On top of that I would like to sell three ARROWS and two NORTH STARS. I just have too many planes in my house. Laddie.

There is no second version of the SPECTRA II model. It is still original SPECTRA II I built several months ago. When I said “new models”,I ment new to Skymasters Float Fly.

Has anyone built an arrow with a canard. From reading this entire thread my take is First you fall in love with the plane, then you curse it.I do take away from this thread is flying the arrow is all about technique.Soon as you start to stray from it,she bites you.I do think a canard could solve a lot of the pitch problems.-Jeffo

Laddie,-Don't you mean 11.5 Northstars, mine was the 150% Northstar that did the big bellysmacker that drove the battery rioght through the bottom hull. There was no structural damage, all superficial.Repairs are underway, and hope to be there next year. That plane is the most stable plane I ever flew,I wish I had more than a couple flights on it before I went to the meet. All I knew was that it was safe to fly,and it flew great.I never did any stall or dive tests.I'll never do that again.

jeffo Your North Star was very impressive by being largest. Other gentleman had maybe fastest. He had the the speed measuring device on his slick looking NS that apparently measured speed of 120 Miles/Hour. Laddie.
I also want to thank you for your hospitality and putting on a great event. I'll be back again next year with a friend just getting into water planes. I'm the one who had 4 - 1 minute flights on my Northstar because the carb kept coming off. Interestingly though I flew it last night and really didn't do a thing to the engine but reinstall the carb and fly it. Go figure. Sorry I missed the 1 1/2 scaled up Northstar.
