Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any information on a older HIROBO LAMA SA-315B? The one that I'm looking at is older than the popular red one. This one has a metal tail assmbly. It looks like a low time helo, and is a turn key setup.
Can you still get parts for something like this?
What is it worth?
Chris

I just bought one used, metal tail assembly and have put in new radio gear. Need to replce the blades. I paid $390 with shipping for copter & engine. I'm alos looking for a 3 blade head - they are very expensive as new MB3 system

Hi
I have one of the old hirobo lama models
the scale size is 1/7.4 and are built to
take a 49 to 50 size engine.
these models are quite rare now and are
becoming a collectors item.
I am still able to obtain some parts but
these are very limited.

Hi Norm,
When you say canopy, do you mean the clear bubble section or
the complete two part canopy(Glass fibre bottom section and clear top).
I can supply both.
Please let me know.
Cheers, Chris.

Hello Chris,
I'm sorry,I didn't have the assembling instructions in front of me.
It is the windshield ,(clear, no doors on this windshield)part number DG70-5. It comes in two pieces which have to be glued together.
I also need the left side panel part number DG70-11.
Are these part numbers valid ?
thank you,
Norm

Hi Norm,
The canopy which I have is a one piece item so no gluing.
they are made by the chap who used to be the sole importer for Hirobo
in the UK.
Please supply me with your email address, I will then forward you
his name and details.
Cheers, Chris

try this site:

http://home.cfl.rr.com/pwales/

Peter Wales knows Lamas like nobody's business.
as soon as you go to his homepage you will see why. He is an expert scale builder and loves Lamas. He should be able to answer any questions you have.

good luck

Hi Norm,
Sorry its taken some time to get back to you.
I think You mentioned in your previous email that you have a manual for 50 size lama,
This is the one thing I do not have.
If you are prepared to send me a photo-copy of the manual I will send you
a canopy, all you will have to pay for is the postage of the canopy.
If you like this idea please let me know.
Kind regards, Chris.

P.S.
I have not yet flown my 50 size lama as it is in bits(restoration project)
I'm currently building an original Big Hirobo petrol lama.
You have probably gathered by now I'm a lama nut.

Hi Chris ,
I will make a photo copy of the manual.
Send me email with an address where to send the manual and how much postage for the windshield.
I enclosed two photos. One is the 3'x5' fullsize plan that came the with kit and the second is the first page of the manual.
I too am a Lama and heli nut also.
I have been ever since I read about Dieter Schluter's first R/C helicoter in 1970.
take it easy and hope this is the Lama you have.
Norm

Either send me your email address so I can send you my mailing address or post yours .
It would be easier than posting here everytime.
