I missed this thread and the report of the first flights. A belated congrats on a couple of successful first flights. It's been quite the experience.

Bruce: THe first flight is detailed here:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1556227/anchors_1793261/mpage_2/key_/anchor/tm.htm#1793261

It was a bit more eventful than I would have liked but no damage was done.

Oddly enough, I don't feel bad about the mishap on landing. THe flight was so successful and it flew so easily I have alot more confidence in my ability to fly it than I did. After repairs and a bit of redesign it will be better than new. I started the repairs last night and already repaired the broken bits. 2 of the cabane struts were split between the middle and bottom wing and one of the 3/8" wide rib clusters that the cabanes pass through was cracked and horizontally displaced.

Well. Third flight accomplished. Went pretty well. 10 - 12 mph gusty crosswind. After repairing the cabanes and adding sum wire support to the nose, it was a bit out of trim but not too bad. I had some problems turning it when flying down wind. It wants to pop up and then it almost stall turns. I think I need to use a lot more rudder when turning. The wind caught it on landing and turned it almost 90 degrees. After the last time, I didn't even try to correct it but held it steady until it hit the tall grass.

Best part is I got video. My connectin here in maine is very bad so I can't view the video on line. Would someone please let me know if they load and play properly?

Jeff
