Pattern Student -> F8U Crusader or A7 Corsair II 3 views (2/24/2004 3:53 AM)

Hi Guys,
Does anybody have or know of a source for 3 views of the F8U or A7? I would like to design/build a prop-jet model of this plane. I don't need super accuracy but do need moments, relative areas and outlines.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Flying Models 6/70 had a model like you describe. 60 powered, 64" length, 58" span. Plans may be available somewhere. Here's a picture of the model.

also try

www.bobsairdoc.com

he has lots of 3-views available (over 38,000 total), call bob at 714-979-8058

I have 4 different 3-views of the A-7, the best one is from the Famous Airplanes of the world series from Koku-Fan (japanese publication) that you can't find the US any More. Contact me about getting copies of this 3-view, fuselage sections, the works.

Good luck,

House of balsa had a cool kit (A-7) that I built awhile back, it was a .19-25, I popped in a .32 webra (heli) and even with the anhidral (did I spell it right?) it kept on climbing and when it did low level fly by's you you could hear the intake howl!!! awesomely fast!!! so much pwer that it felt like it could hover!!!! I have the plans at home and probably enlarge them,.. an old fighter pilot friend of mine even commented on them and really liked the look,... one question I would like to ask anyone is, since this kit is discontinued, there was a gentleman who also designed plans for the same size plane,.. I can't remember his name ,...he also designed plans for a twin prop bronco he might still be in the magazines, anyone remember his name? and where I can get his plans? I need to get the Rib patterns for the A-7 so I can make some removeable/emergency replacement wings maybe even some foam core wings

thanks for anybodies help
Best Regards,
Blueangel4

clscale-RCU -> RE: F8U Crusader or A7 Corsair II 3 views (4/30/2004 4:17 AM)

Hello there Blueangel4....

I have plans that have all of the patterns and they are un-used, I can make copies for the cost of kinkos copy cost and postage. Let me know if you are interested.

Great kit, mine is un-built, I plan on using my kit as a pattern since kits are now becoming a thing of the past!

Fred Cronenwett

e-mail me at clscale@hotmail.com for details on how get a copy of the plans to you

blueangels4 -> RE: F8U Crusader or A7 Corsair II 3 views (4/30/2004 3:23 PM)

Cool thanks!!! I just emailed you

I am able to reproduce any kind of squadron markings to scale with my computer so if you have done your research and have some color print outs from a plastic models decals or otherwise I can give you the "line art" or pattern at the correct size for your plane, heck! even on disk ,..so a sign shop can cut them out on vinyl and you can use them as a stencil to paint or airbrush them on to your plane,.. also there is a guy that can turn such work into a waterslide decal that can then be fuel proofed,... just imagine the A-7 with a low viz desert storm finish!!! and awesome decals!!! I'll get his email to you later, cuz right now I can remember

Best Regards
Blue
