Well, I have two other planes on the bench at the moment but I might just try it out next week. Tomorrow I cant build and Sunday I am going flying. As soon as I get these two electrics finished up(What I am flying Sunday) I will mount the engine tomorrow night and report back. I just went on Airborne Models/The World Modells site and looked at their diagram for the mount so I have a pretty good idea of how to use the mount and it actually looks like it will work pretty well? I really want to fly this sucker everyone I talk to that has one likes it so I am looking forward to it especially with the struts.

I attempted the maiden flight on mine yesterday, but the right gear folded up on run up. Results were a few minor scratches on the underside of the wing. I hate it. Also, have a question about the CG. Mine is at the recommended of 4.5, but it seems a bit nose heavy. Has anyone moved it back successfully?

safer to start out with what seems to be nose heavy than to be sorry.... at least on a new plane you're not familiar with.

you can always fine tune it to your liking from there by repositioning battery pack....
so don't ''cement'' it into place until you're satisfied.

i believe taildragger has his per manual speck and it flies like a rocket - lands like a gem
(except for todays emergency landing after his connecting rod busted - good save dave)

Yes and thanks. Rare Bear is right. My plane is balanced exactly on the book mentioned CG and it flies superb. I would not change the CG that I currently have for any reason. The stock retracts work excellent so unfortunately, Cruz, it is probably a setup problem on your retracts. You want to make sure that when the gear is down and locked, the rod is pushed (or pulled, I don't remember) all the way into the locked position. If your servo doesn't travel enough or whatever, let the slack be on the gear up side of the stroke. Come on guys, let's get these things in the air........

I'll make the adjustments. I haven't even looked it over to see what the problem was but need to prior to Friday as that's when I'm planning to take 'er up again. I'll let you all know. Thanks again guys,

I just picked up my Saito 100 for my WM51 this weekend. Got it mouted to the beams with the stock set up, just need to fiddle around with it to make sure the prop shaft is centered.

Anybody use a flex pipe exhaust system to keep from haveing the muffler stick out the side? Where it is pointing now it is going to be blowing oil all over the retract.

Central Hobbies or ChiefAircraft.com usually has them when they get off the boat.

Well, my plane is pretty much done. Just waiting on my 9303 & reciever to hook everything up. It balanced perfectly on CG listed in the manual and that is a first for me.

I wanted to use a flex pipe exhaust to keep from cuttting the cowl but, in the end decided to just use the standard Saito muffler. Does not look to bad. I also mounted a remote glow and refueler up in the bottom so it can be easly reached thru the air exit hole.

The CG is 4.5" back from the leading edge and just above of the wing. How is the plane held when this is done? What does it pivot on? I take it that it is fully assembled (Wings,Prop/Spinner/Electronics, etc.) Is all this just fitted in first where you'd like it to be and then work from there?? Wing on/Wing off sort of thing (moving batteries etc.) Thanks All. ec

Turn the plane upside down and balance it like that.
