Richard, I already have a Pumped OS 91 Surpass II and Slimline Inverted Pitts Muffler. Two weeks ago you told me that my 91 pumper Surpass would fly my Mustang just fine? Have you changed your mind because if so than I need to buy a new engine and I dont know if I want to spend 450 on a YS 110?

Have some faith. Your pumped OS .91 will fly the plane just fine. All I am saying is that if you want extreme speed, then a YS 110 is your ticket. However, the stock firewall and airframe might not be able to handle the power output from that engine.

Plus, this plane is rated up to a .91 four stroke, so I don't see a reason why an OS .91 pumper wouldn't fly the plane well. If you stick a larger engine in it and something fails, then the manufacturer might not reimburse you if the plane is still under warranty.

Thanks Richard, I don't need all out speed in the P51 so it will work out well. I am going to install a hot four stroke in my EZ Dago Red? What would be a powerful 4 stroke for my Dago Red? My last one had an OS 61 SF pumped and piped engine and it screamed this time I want a four stroke?

My thoughts also, I dont want it to come apart in the air and besides full scale Mustangs don't go vertical or at least not for long anyway[;)]

I've been keeping up with this thread every now and then and thought I'd give it new life. So please tell me how your WM P51's are flying. I'm thinking about getting one. A buddy of mine already flys the H9 and I thought it would be great to get a different one. Please update.

Dave, what's the line up with the servos. I read it takes 7. Can you please tell me where all 7 go? I'm thinking 1 throttle, 1 elevator, 1 rudder, 1 retract, 1 flaps and 2 ailerons? Also, did go with with the standard servos?

Yes, you are correct with the servo count and placement. I use a standard servo for the throttle. High end JR retract servo. 1 medium servo for the rudder. I go high end on the elevator because that is the most importand. Aileron servos are medium quality.

What prop do ya'll think is the best APC for an OS .61 FX in the WM .46 size....I want speeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used an APC 10/8 on a OS 61fx. (Ultra Stick 40) Best overall vertical and speed for my plane is an APC 12/6 though.

Break it in on a 15x8 prop. This prop can also be used for normal flying. For extreme speed over 120 mph, switch to either a 14x11 or 14x12 prop.

Slimline inverted Pitts muffler for the YS .91 will fit this engine since this engine is just a bored out 91.

Hi Guys, Sorry that I haven't been answering your replies but I have been down with pneumonia since Wednesday. I haven't had the the chance to work on my Mustang because of above.

I have been thinking about servos myself, I have 4 high end new Airtronics servos 100oz .12 that came with my Stylus I could put on the flight controls I have a choice of of Hitec 605's and 545's and I converted 10 new 94102 to top ball bearings with LDM Kits they work smooth I will put one on flaps and one on throttle. I am running a pull/pull Kevlar system on the rudder with a new Hitec 605. I could try 4 of the new Karbonite geared Hitec Digitals on all 5 surfaces?
What do you guys think?

Has anyone converted the 60 size World Models to pneumatic retracts yet? I just wanted to see if someone had as I am buying my Robart 551 RS and their 7/16 Robo Struts. I have pretty much figured out that I am going to have to make some modifications but thats cool because I plan to strengthen the ribs that hold the retract plates and I will be working in the wheel wells and will try and make as little mess as possible. but I need to get the rails down far enough so that the offsett Robo Struts I am not sure yet because I dont have them to try they may just drop in[:D][:D]
Does anyone know what the World Models are covered with?

I can identify here. I did the maiden flight on mine last Sunday and I had set the controls per their recommendations. I thought that the elevator looked way too much so put in half rate at 50% but left the ailerons and boy did I have fun controlling it. I managed to land it without damage but really scary. Put 50% on low rate on the ailerons and flew again - much better. I will be taming the throws a lot. I have a VQ P40 which has much lower throws and I even have low rates on that and it handles really well. As for the landing gear, I tried a flap landing and got it wrong and it ripped both legs out[:(]. So when it gets fixed I will definitely epoxy the mounts. I am flying with a Magnum 91 with a 14x7 Graupner, using the supplied retracts with a Hitec servo. Does anyone have a recommendation for the throws, high and low rate???

Just flew mine last weekend, It flies awsome. Mine has a YS140Fz for power with an inverted pits muffler, the sound is great and the speed is 150mph+ I know its fast just not exactly sure how fast yet. My other plane was clocked at 135mph and this one was definatly faster. I used high torque servos on all surfaces and gap sealed the hinges to reduce chance of flutter. World models has a great plane, i hope they do the corsair in a giant or 60 size plane.!!! had same engine in H9 plane and it sucked, quality of H9 plane is just not there and it didnt fly as well either.

Over the past few weeks I have become less and less impressed with this plane. I like the way it flies but the covering job on mine is horrible. Its peeling up on the corners...Ive only flown the thing probably 10 times. I still cant seem to get the retracts adjusted right.

Mike, the covering on mine looks real good but its still in the box. Whats wrong with the retracts? I am probably going to switch to air retracts.
I have been thinking about Robarts 551's and 653 L/R offset Robo Struts?

Oh and I broke down and I am installing a Saito 120[X(] Unless I find another 120 FS I like better I am saving my OS 91 Surpass Pumper and Slimline inverted pitts muffler for my original EZ Dago Red[:@]

Well...

The invasion stripes are black monokote on top of the silver. The black is peeling off. Had to use some stix it to get it to stay down. The back edge of the wing, the part right behind the wing bolts is peeling up too. Wrinkles galore. Just some spots where it is peeling in general, its not bad Im just saying that Ive seen better covering jobs with ARF's especially for a $250 ARF.

I get my gear adjusted with the servo so it works on the ground. But when I fly it I always have one that stops midway. I think its because the servo is over rotating and it is coming up then back down part way. Works great on the ground for some strange reason...just not in the air. I like the pneumatic gears too. That would be the way to go. Mine are kind of flimsy too. Little hard landing and one of my tires is rubbing on the wheel well. Its hard as hell to straighten out, go figure easy to bend out of whack and hard to bend back.
