ill have to agree with rossi carbs being a bit touchy. it really doesn't take much to make a difference. i personally found the nova P5 a lot easier to tune than any of my previous motors. of course there are always a few bad ones that get through. thats why i dont like rb motors. i think i just got a bad one but i cant bring myself to get another one til i have a problem with a P5. then it'll be a rody C5.

RobH- is it ok for a motor to be used a little before sending it to EBMods? it doesn't seem like it would matter but just thought id ask. also- whats the usual turn-around time for the standard job? thnx

Update on the new Novarossi 421. Crono is now offering a version of it called the RS8.

The couple of folks I know over here that have one are raving about what a great engine it is. They are both veteran P5 users and they say the 421 will smoke a P5. I have yet to actually see one run, but i have my doubts. A healthy P5 is no slouch, and the only engines I've seen that could actually smoke one had so much power they were crap for offroad racing.
Oh and BTW adam, what did you use to shim up the 421 in your 7.5, or do you have an aftermarket chassis with a slot for the oversized crankcase?

i've not got round to fitting one to the K2 yet, i was a bit too disappointed with the one i put in my Mugen
the WS7II in the K2 has only done about 5 tanks so i'll stick with that for a while
Brand spanking 421 ready to go after that though, even if i do need to run an RB carb

are the 421's bigger than an RB then around the crankcase then?
i've got the blue finned mounts on but never tried to bolt it in yet?

Regards the MP 7.5 mounts and stock chassis, you will need to do something as the 14mm crankcase is too deep to sit flat on the mounts. Most folks I know simply put a washer between the engine and mount on each mounting bolt, but i'm too anal to trust such a poorly supported engine. I grind a bit of a slot in the chassis so I get full contact between the enging mounts and tabs and the bottom of the crankcase does not touch the chassis. I also deck my mounts, but as I mentioned earlier about being anal, it's one less thing to worry about. Most aftermarket chassis' I've seen had a slot cut into them so the big crankcase would bolt straight to the mounts with no mods or washers.

dude this is a 4 year old thread...LOL

421 has way more power and torque then the WS7 ...but the WS7 has a better winding top end then the 421

I don't care how old the thread is, I was trying to find reviews of the 421 but there aren't many out there. In that case, I am going ot be buying an eb mod 421.

I agree with you. These threads should be timeless.
