Way to go Kyle!! Sound's like you have a good co-pilot. "Do the Blue Angels trick?", that made me smile! Looks like your CG may need a little adjustment. Tell us your set-up... throws and cg. After you get a few more trim flights I'm sure it will be flying smooth. Was that flight with the 3-blade? You will get much more speed with a two blade if you can fit it. Congratulations on the maiden! Tom

    "pusher"?

With his being electric, no need for a pusher prop, or did I miss something?

Glad you got her down ok and can now start the tweaking process!!!

    Spar,
yes mine is pusher, i replaced the GLOW YS-45 with a Himmaxx HC-50 outrunner with a 3-blade 14-8 prop.

    Angel,
I would love to use a smaller prop but outrunners have lots of torque an require larger props, the min size i could use and get good power is 15 inch, so that is why i used a 3-blade 14 inch prop. According to Master Airscrew, the general rule when going from 2-blade to 3-blade props is to drop one inch from diameter and add one inch to pitch. I'm very satisfied with the power output with this power system. I can cruise around at 1/2 throttle, with my batteries i can fly close to 20 min cruising and 12-15 min all out.
It's currently on the nose heavy side, with the CG at the recommneded spot. Do you suggest moving the CG aft or fwd 1 inch?

    Trouch,
Throws and CG are all exaclty as the manual suggests. I'll need to fly on lower rates as i think the recommended rates are to high. Well i guess if you want insane roll rates then you'd want the rates that high. But for the 1st couple of flights i'd suggest coming back a little.
Yeah my Co-pilot wife is always daring me to do crazy things with my planes..lol More flights to come!!

    Kyle

Kyle where are you flying? I'm over the hill in Los Banos. Are you stationed in Monterey?

    Trouch,
I fly out in Chualar, with the Salinas Aero Modelers(SAM) club. I'm attending the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. Where do you fly?

Yep, understood Kyle, but for others reading, even though the jet is configured as a 'pusher', the prop is not a specific pusher prop, nor requires a pusher type prop as the motor can be wired to turn the same way as a front mounted engine. Just clarifying Angels' post.

    Cheers,
    Spar

Oh, gotcha, it's not a "pusher" prop, its a standard prop, i just wired the motor to run in reverse. Just make sure your prop always faces fwd.

I've been flying at Eagle Field, it's an old WW2 air training base in Dos Palos. When I get mine set-up I'll get ahold of you. Tom

Does someone interested in selling his (or her) Combat Models F-16n ?
I tried to buy one from the manufacturer, but I think they are out of business.
