Very nice thats how I do it to . I use to use golden rod, but I found out in the Texas summers it changes the throtel setting, the steal cabel dosent srink or expand. I have a thunder tiger 1.20 in my yellow lazer 72 inch. It flys great and very fast.I have the round Jet -in cowel tuned muffler made in Huston Texas by the Jet CO. The lazer is a very good flying airplane and is very stable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Always use the elevator when landing he he he ---------------------------Heartbeat in Arlington, Texas

The Laser is a mid wing plane, wings and horizontal stab is almost on the datum line. This is what the new 3D planes are like today. The YAKs and Extra 260s ...

Eric - the Laser's cowling is huge, you can mount it sideways or at 45 degrees downwards (7 o'clock position). The SA125 should happily turn a 17x6. That would be great for the Laser 200.

Hi,
Could I bother you for some throw rates for the Laser 200-120(hi/low)? Bought the plane but no manual.
Thanks,
RM

Munsey ... keep it simple ...

AIL - 3/4"
ELE - 1"
RUD - 1.5"

that will make her a very sedate flying plane, not a Piper Cub but very manageable.

RM - what are you powering her with? That plane is really nice, I will say safe for the covering quality and choice of wood (not that its that bad at all), this plane will rival H9. Love how they get most of the things ready for you ... like the holes for the horns etc. I call it a PUT TOGETHER PLANE ... no building required!

I'm using a 2-stroke .90. Nothing too fancy. The servos are solid, and I'm using a 6v rx pack to make sure the servos have enough punch to do the job. It's a new plane for me, and I've only flown it once or twice.

Well I finally got the Pacific aero Laser 200 and I bought a evo 26 gasser for it. I got the blue one as that is the only one that arrived with this shipment and I didn't want to wait any longer! I am putting in HiTec servo's HS5625's. I tried using a Hanger 9 beam mount for the Evo engine, but the pitts style bisson muffler rested on the beam mount and would not sit square on the engine. I can only find the radial mount in the Netherlands, local places (the states) say late July for them to recieve it. Took 5 months to get my Laser, so I ordered it from the Netherlands.

Of all the brands I have owned (H9, GP, DP, CMP, WM, AW, SIG, WH), the PA Laser 120 gets my vote for being the best. Very high quality hardware, great attention to details, great engineering, beautifully pre-applied decals, outstanding strength and glue joints, I can go on.

Now I need to get one too ... lol ... it was sad that I lost mine to a faulty aileron servo, saw the thing jittering and I ignored it. Oh well ...

You could try Pacific Aeromodel at www.pacaeromodel.com

Actually, the wings are symmetrical, so the only difference between the left and right wings would be the servo mount and the covering. If you can't come up with a right wing, just use what you have.

Don't recover it. Think how famous you would be all over TN. ("This guy can fly really good with one wing on upside down!" )

I used to solder my links on one end of the push rod with 60/40 solder and never had any failures, this was on max 60 sized model. Has anyone used this method on the larger models?

I am just now putting mine together. I bought mine more than 1 year ago. On the bench at the moment, I am finishing up a 72" CMP Zero and have started on a Wildhare Extra LS.

My Laser is Red. It is going together so well and the covering is FLAWLESS. I am tempting to get the Blue one and have a beautiful pair. This depends on how I like the way it flies. I am putting a YS110 on mine.

Hopefully will have mine ready in a week, I am using Futaba 9C radio with 5 Hitec HS5625mg servos (two elevator, two aileron and one rudder pull-pull and a Futaba 3151 for the engine. Power is with a Evolution 26 gas engine with 16 oz fuel tank and 18/6 propeller. 1000 ma 4.8v radio battery (may upgrade) and a 7.2 lipo 1200 ma for the engine ignition. I am using the front holes on the fuselage for the wing tube, but initial balance is showing a bit tail heavy, so I will wait and see. I have not weighed it yet, but will let you know as soon as I do. By the way, my Laser is blue and yellow as the Red which I ordered was not in the order received by Chief.

Could use some help from anyone on cutting out the cowl. I am using a Bison Pitts muffler with the engine mounted sideways. Looks like I may have to cut a good hunk out of the bottom of the cowl, any input before I put the grinder to it? Also is it necessary to cut out the entire cylinder head opening if the engine fits entirely inside the cowl? I believe most of the cooling air will go out the bottom hole I will cut in the cowl.

Ok, I weighed the Laser on a old digital bathroom scale with only pound increments, so take it for what its worth. Standing it on the spinner and trying to balance it, the scale would sometimes read 8 pounds and sometimes 9 pounds. The box says 8.8 pounds, and I have a Evolution 26 gas installed complete with ign batteries and ignition.

about the cowl, cut as little as possible as the factory has left huge amounts of space between the body and cowl on both sides of the fuselage for airflow.
about the CG. I have a 26 oz motor on mine and I am still moving the battery further back. I think the stock CG is WAY too nose heavy for this plane. My CG is at LEAST a full inch behind the recommended. Have fun!
