How do you think this plane would handle with a Saito 100, with Pitts muffler and 20% fuel?

Just enought to fly I think as a FA100 with a 15x6 and 20% nitro will only get you about 9,750 RPM ... I had a TT120 2C spinning a 16x6 at 10,500 RPM and that was just nice for me. Not over powered but you have some reserve to enjoy her.

waterfalls,

I assume that with your 26oz motor (what is it?) that you are putting your wingtube in the holes for GLOW? I am hooking up my servo linkages as the last steps. I have a YS110 and it came out 8Lbs 11oz. If I put my battery in the well where the manufacturer intended, it will be tail heavy. You already found the factory CG to be nose heavy so that is what I was hoping.

I like everything about this bird so far with the exception of the hard points for the horns. They are not so hard. I will have to seep some CA in there.

coronabob, Great choice going with the 110. I put a saito 125 in mine. I use the "Glow" tube holes, and put my tank right in front of the wing tube. This causes the airplane to fly straight and level with no elevator trim. I also put the battery directly beside the rudder servo which is behind the stock location.
So far this is a very good pattern bird. I am probably going to be putting hs-5955tg's all around for better control. Good luck flying!

dude, the manual is the worst manual of all time. Even if you find one I doubt it will help. Just put the cg at 4 1/2" back from leading edge and you're fine.

Maidened my YS-110 powered Laser earliear this PM. It tracked very well, handled nimbly and landed like a pattern ship. In the short 1 and 1/2 flights that I could get in, I could tell that it would hover well, knife edge with a light pull to canopy, snaps and stops cleanly, rolls axially, tracks well in loops and descends nicely for landing.

I got to the field, unpacked and found that I had left the wing bolts at home. I lucked out since the wing bolts for my F90 are the same thread size - just a bit long. I suggest that ya'll order F90 wing bolts and shortened them: 'wing' bolts no screwdriver necessary. I used a very famous brand soft mounts for my YS and that was a BIG mistake. The YS shook so bad at idle that it busted my cowl, and broke my glow starter. It really smoothed out above idle but the shake at idle did not allow it to idle low enough.

I ended up taking the cowl off and it flew much better. I agree with Waterfalls that factory CG is way nose heavy. I am very excited with this bird's potential. I will replace the soft mounts with a rigid one, moved the CG back and willing to bet I will like it even more.

I just measured mine, with the 2.5" wheels it is 7" to the landing gear hardwood mount. Got to take into account some bending I had to do to straighten the legs after some not so perfect landings. Should be very close. The gear that comes with the ARF seems a little soft.

Here are the best pictures I have of the gear so far. Had my dads friend make them, there about 22in wide and 8in tall. This is going to be an awesome plane, I am 6ft tall and this plane still seems massive.

not that I know of, but mine is the the worst covering ever. it will change color if you leave the iron on it too long when shrinking it. Too long is like 1-3 seconds. In the future we just might re cover it with ultracote. The stock hardware is not the best either and the manual is out dated too. But the overall build quality is supurb. Cowling and wheel pants are painted very well also. Did I mention the firewall is thick enough to withstand a nuclear bomb? Its not bad though. Hopefully I will be able to post Its maiden flight up here in a couple weeks with a YS 140.

Well I just wiped my Laser out. Only tenth flight. I put it into a spin and it would not come out. Turned out to be the extension cable clip in the wing aileron was not the correct type and the cable pulled out. I had been using only Futaba servo's and used Hytec in the Laser. Without thinking or actually not realizing that there were different clips for the Hytec and Futaba connectors I just used what I had. I even put a couple wraps of masking tape to keep the tension on the clip. Maybe I am the only one who didn't realize this, but if you did not, watch for it. The plane was really flying great and I was still getting it trimmed out.

That really sucks, I hope my plane has a longer expiration date. Should maiden it this weekend and should have a video too. Heres some pictures of the near complete laser with the YS 140.

Well..... My opinion is that this plane is a piece of sh*t. The covering sucks, all the hardware is pretty much useless, all the stars and strips are not covering. There like cheap decals put on there, and they peel up easy. The rear servo mounts are all screwed up. Not to mention you can’t fly the darn thing with the cowl off, since pacificcrapo left the top of the firewall open so if you tried to fly without the cowl, the aerodynamics would go to Shat. And this plane is defiantly not worth that heavy $300 price tag. The plane should be more around $200-$250 range. Also the stars and stripes on the cowl are not painted on, there just again crappy decals they slapped on there because it’s easier to do that then paint the darn thing. Well now the small list of positive things. The actual build quality seems pretty good, and the covering scheme is attractive, that’s how they reeled me in... I have not flown it yet, but I pray that its fly’s better than it went together. I am kicking myself for buying this. Wish I would have stayed with a more name brand company like GP's and H9. I will have a video in of it this weekend.

Well I feel I have to reply in the defense of Pacific. I have just finished my second Laser 200 and have not had any problems as were listed in the previous note. I personally do not fly my planes without the cowling and have not noted any problems with the rear elevator servo mounts. I have to say I thought $300 was a pretty good price for what I received knowing there are better quality ARF's out there, but also with a heftier price tag. I hope you have a better time flying the plane, it sure flies great. It was too bad I error ed on the type clip I used to hold the servo extension together, as I was thoroughly enjoying the Lason. Good luck this weekend.

Best quality I've seen
Easy build.
Flys great w/o cowling
flies on rails
and turns heads at the field.

that's my 2 sense.

Well, people your planes don’t sound like the one I'm talking about. Maybe I got a bad kit, I really love the look of lasers, especially the blue and yellow star ones; that is the whole reason I bought this kit. I really hope it fly's as good as you guys say it does, and I do love the way it looks, I just wish they would of used mono or ultracote on it, and the way they had you put it together was better. By the sound of it, I think my kit must have been messed up. I will have a video posted up here on Sunday of its maiden. (Knock on wood)

All I can say is WOW! This plane fly’s great!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better than my Funtana, The laser fly's just like its on rails, really. With the YS on the plane it really performs and sounds nice. I love this plane; it defiantly makes up for the bad building experience. I had a little trouble on the last and final landing though. The gear caught in the grass and flipped and really bent landing gear and smashed the right wheel pant. Does anyone know where I can get replacement wheel pants? Well here’s the video and picture.

The dealer website lists them as out of stock, so you may have a chance of getting one still.
