Just received a new MVVS .49 and the instructions doesn't get into breaking in the engine. I suppose I should break it in like any other ABC type engine but I just want to be sure. Anyone out there have this type of engine? How did you break yours in? Any suggestions from MVVS owners would be appreciated. Thanks!

How I broke in My MVVS .40, and these instructions come from the Morris Website.

Set both needdles in obviously rich locations, like 2/12 - 3 turns out. After starting your engine, don't waste any time in getting the engine to a rich 2 stroke setting at full throttle. Run it there for a minute or two, and shut off the engine. Let it cool down for several minutes. Repeat. Test your needle setting each time to insure that you are still at a rich 2 cycle, not blubbering 4 cycle or peaked out. You should have a slightly noticeable smoke trail. After doing this a few times, peak out the engine. If the engine holds the peak in a stable manner without dropping rpm for a minute, put it in the plane and set your idle screw. The engine isn't finished breaking in, but the rest of the job will be performed during normal use.
