hi, has anyone tried to fit a charge socket to the stock TX . theres a blank hole under on/off switch, were ithink it goes.i bought the socket for it,thinking it wud be easy to fit,but the socket has 3 terminals, and i havnt a clue were they go.also the TX takes 8 x 1.5v aa's = 12v.if i use rechargables(8 x 1.2v aa's),i'm only gonna get 9.6v.have i got that right.if so whats the solution....

I'm confused about the half tank problem(cutting out).wats the best solution.my lhs said he's never had that problem with any savages he's had...,& that the problem is,,its just not set-up right..but from all the posts on this & other forums,,there is obviously a problem..i did see on one post which said use bigger bore fuel piupe..(which my lhs said u cant get)???

Great truck, loadsa fun,,even though i've already broke the top cooling fin, broke ariel wire & trashed the roll bar..

SAVAGE 21,645 ST SERVO,6V HUMP/CHARGER,AND FITTING REVERSE 2NITE.............

Firstly take your CAPS LOCK off! This is seen as rude, like shouting in text form.

Can't help with the TX probs but as for the self leaning,I run a Savage 25 RTR with the new style tank, I have installed an in-line fuel filter and large bore fuel pipe (it can be bought) and I personally have not had a problem with self-leaning. The dual tank mod is very easy and cheap to do, but as far as I'm concerned it is not neccessary.

Keep us posted on the TX charge port though, I'll try it if it's not too much grief.

Thanks Matster,, will try bigger bore fuel pipe & filter, and see how it goes, dont know if its worth adding the charge socket & buying 8 x 1.2v rechargables,if its not going to improve things.

Sorry about the caps, done it at work,in a rush,& didnt realize........have sorted it...

Well seeing as this transmitter has quite a low resell value I said to myself F it & I put took out my trusty old Dremel and proceeded to make a retangular hole into the right side rear base of the transmitter. In that hole that I made with trusty old Dremel tool I epoxied a Deans connector. I use Deans on all my battery packs made up with 16awq silicon jacketed wire. The transmitter worksl great with 8 NiMi cells. I unsoldered the 8 cell battery holder and soldered the Deans connectored lead from my battery pack and the power leads to the transmitter together. When I want to charge my transmitter I simply insert the matching Deans connector that has leads coming out of my quick charger. I them select NiMi batteries and set the charge to 1/C (1.6A in my case) push the start button and wait till it beeps and I ready to go again for another few days. I bought my pack already assembled (albiet sans Deans) 8 celled AA size, 1600ma at my lhs for $29C. So in answer to your question, Yes you can run your transmitter with 8 NiMi cells. You can also simply retain the supplied battery holder and just pop your rechargeable batteries in & out when needed.

Thanks for the reply Twobeers.what i wanted was for the TX to be like the RX coversion.that is to replace the stock 4 cell pack(4 x 1.5v=6v) off the RX ,with a 5 cell(5 x 1.2v=6v) rechargable hump pack,& not have to touch it again.
so to do the TX,(8 x 1.5v cells), i would have to have 10 x 1.2 rechargable cells,wouldn't i ? ? .
Anyway ,i've spoken to my LHS, & he said he would fit the charge socket for £10.00,so i'll let him do it ,& try just the 8 x 1.2 rechargable cells in the stock batt tray.then i will compare battery life from 8 new duracells to the 8 rechargables .

thanks for the info ......
