I Bought a kit and began putting it together, but with all the upgrades out there, i decided to upgrade first. Here is a website I have been using.Savage Upgrade

If you want to drive right away get the RTR if you are willing to wait and want the chance to upgrade from the begining then get the SS.

Hitec Aggressor

That is controller I will be getting, It comes with one standard Servo, that you can use to run your throttle control and you will have to get the Hitec 5645mg Cost $60 or the Hitec 645mg Cost $40 for your steering servo. You also will need to get another Hitec 325HB for your Reverse Mod, if you have one.

Another Site that lists Radio that could be used is Dr Dougs Savage

If you check Ebay and Type in HPI Savage under search you usually can find the origianal Radio Equipement for your truck. Origianal meaning the Equipement that comes with the RTR. The Hitec 645mg is still recomended by many as the Servo to get for your steering. Look at the Last Link I gave you for Savage Upgrades to Find out more on that. Ebay has many of these items I have listed for cheaper than what you would buy them for at the Hobby Shops, Just make sure if you go that route to choose a reputable dealer.

Then Radio I use is the JR XS3 Synthesized. It allows you to choose what channel you run on. That way you are never on the same channel as someone else and therfore never have to "sit it out". Here is a link to one JR XS3 But you can just do a google search and come up with a ton of sites. It is really easy to program too and very versatile as far as buttons/switches go.

The Question, is how much do you want to spend. The One I listed is an $80 dollar setup, while the one bruzer listed is a $250 dollar setup. The original HPI gear could cost about $50 on E-Bay and there a re many of other Controls that would work as well, that would have diff. prices
