I guess I knew there'd be teething pains!!

http://www.ofna.com/recall.html

I'm thinkin' it's an air leak, like the Savage .25s had when they first came out. But that alone might not prompt a recall, would it??

And iffin' you got the Werks version, I'd get on the horn to them to ask if they are having a similar problem. It IS the same engine!!!

Help!! My trusty Sirio.18 just bit the dust after seven gallons of 30%. I went online and saw this new picco P2. I had to have it! Just got it Wed. of last week. This thing has been nothing but a headache. No matter how you try to tune it, this engine will not pull from the bottom end. I called Werks racing and they told me that most of the time they hears this complaint it is the clutch engaging too early. I have now tried just about every combination of clutch MIP high stall, aluminum high stall, etc. The higher stall helps hide this problem a little bit but not a single clutch could hold up to the power/higher rpm stall. They all would start to slip after half a tank. The only clutches that would not start to slip is the regular stall clutch. This puts me back to the engine bogging real bad on the bottom end and then hitting real hard on the top. Now before any of you ask if I know how to tune an engine I will go ahead and say that I have been doing this for years and that is not the problem. This engine definitely has a problem. Air leak?Maybe? I do not know but I definitely need some help!! Please anyone, I do not know what to do.

My Engine is the Picco P2. Werks told me that they do not have a recall on their engine that the recall is only on the OFNA Max21. I thought that they were the same engine just different distributors.

With the engine running at a clean area (no dust) like pavement, take the air filter off and plug the hole with your thumb. If it dies instantly than you probably don't have an air leak.

They are the same engine, just different heads. The recall site said that only 1 weeks worth of engines were faulty. They may have been able to track that lot to only OFNA and not to Werks.

OFNA's website sais that their recall is for the backing plate. They say that it is causing tuning problems.

The only way it could cause tuning problems is if it's leaking air.

If this is the way that this Picco P2 is supposed to run I would not recommend this engine to anyone. My stock 2.5 was faster off the bottom end, my Sirio was faster all the way around. This engine pulls great on the top end but it is just a dog on the bottom. I hope they recall the P2

If yours will flip from standstill thats great. Mine wont even come close to flipping from a stand still. It bogs for a few thousand rpm's and then takes off. It is missing its initial bite. I am hoping for a recall as this engine definately has its problems. I am not the only person having this problem otherwise we wouldent be seeing a recall on the Max 21.
