Status: offline 		I just put one of these together myself. It is maybe the best made plane I've ever seen. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the heat shrink for the clevises. I have my CG an inch back from the spar. This thing is awesome in knife edge flight and waterfalls.

Status: offline 		Much better than the goldberg eh. I was flying a goldberg extreme before this too. My EF came in at 10 oz lighter than the goldberg.

Status: offline 		What is everyone coming out with weight with the Saito .72 on it? Mine came out at 4.7lbs. I was hoping it was going to be lighter. I can only see maybe getting rid of 2oz with a different receiver and battery pack.

I have a question. I took my newly assembled EF Edge 540 with Saito .72, all new radio and servos, Hitec Electron 6, Hitec 475HBs all around, and an HS85BB on the throttle. The Saito is new so I was going to run a tank through and fly. I believe the stock tank was leaking air because the stopper screw seems to have stripped so engine was running pretty rough. What I noticed was that the HS85BB was constantly moving the throttle(surging back and forth) with no change from the transmitter stick. I have read all about the HS81s not being up to snuff for this application considering the vibration, that is why I got the 85. Does it sound like the servo is bad or am I going to have to get a mini-digital?

Status: offline 		I dont think you'll need a digital servo to fix your problem..
If your throttle servo is bad replace it with a standard servo. You will have to open up the cutout where that servo goes but that istn as big deal.

Make sure the metal throttle pushrod is not rubbing against any metal surfaces.

Try a new servo extension if you are using one.

Wayne, I hate to put a standard size servo in because I am balancing at about 1/4" behind the spar. I was hoping to come out about an inch. Instead of the stock tail wheel, I used a Sullivan and a 1" Dubro wheel but I guess I probably should have used the stock setup as it places the actual wheel back further. I moved the engine as far back as the carb would allow. Battery is as far back in the wing as I can get it. Any other ideas for balancing without adding tail weight?

I dont think the additional weight of a standard servo up front is going to make that big of a difference.
If it does, a tiny bit of tail weight will get you back to where you were.

Too many people IMO make the CG on these planes a bigger issue than it needs to be.

Status: offline 		I have a Saito 72 on mine also. I had to bite the bullet and add tail weight. It took about 1oz. This is my first 4 stroke. I couldn't believe the power with it on this plane. I have only about 10 flights on mine and the motor still is running very rich. Has unlimited verticle and does great climbing inverted flat spins. I would just add the weight and try it. The only other thing would be to move the battery to the outside of the fuse like some others have done.

Status: offline 		My edge construction is stalled at installing those darn aileron servo rods. I have Hitec 425's in the wing, but can not get the rods to line up with the control horns. What do I need to do to get these rods installed? I read the post by williams, but that's not working for me. my control horns are not very long. I hope I do not need to get new control horns becuase my LHS does not carry longer ones like the Dubro ones and I really want to get this brid in the air this weekend. I have been working on this for a week (only can work at it 15 min at a time with a new baby in the house). any help is appreciated.

Status: offline 		Snyperx, take a look at a construction thread I did on this plane in the User Product Review forum, post num. 23. I used Dubro heavy duty servo arms and Dubro ball links at each end and the push rods came out dead center of the slots. You have to use longer servo arms than stock to line em up.

Status: offline 		I have a YS63 on mine, I like the APC 13 X 4W fun fly prop. I tried the APC 14 X 4W and did not like it. The 14 X 4 had too slow of spool time for my taste but the YS will turn it. I run 30% coopers heli fuel. Jeff Williams

Status: offline 		Jeff I tried the 13X4W APC yesterday and I liked it more snap with the controls as well due to the extra speed it picked up turning 10700. The 14X4 W APC I had on was turning 9600 with 20% poewrmaster.

It hovers well on a 4s3p too.
