I stumbled into the Backyard hobbies website where they are advertizing their new "Bugz" planes which are small carbon fiber planes ment for indoor flying. Has anyone tried these, are they any good?
Here's the site:

Thanks

Purchased a Bugz Wasp two weeks ago from Todd's Models www.toddsmodels.com and was disgusted by the lack of documentation. It was a really hard build and I still can't get her to fly. Apparently Todd was phasing out his stock of the Bugz line, which should have been obvious to me as I ordered his last Wasp. The biggest issue I have right now concerning the plane in its current state is the battery size. Everything was built to spec (what they do give you) with referencing to the single low-res picture they had online. I also referred to some posts on this forum such as the "Wasp Build Report". I have a Ni-MH battery that was referred by Todd's Models. Its my belief that this is too heavy for the plane to take off. I'll be making the move to order a Lithium battery as recommended by Backyard Hobbies. The plane is already expensive as it is - what was advertised as an easy (almost first-timer) electric plane is really just a huge pain in the neck.

However its my belief that this plane can become a very enjoyable and functional rc plane. We really need a better community of owners and those interested to communicate and fill in the missing pieces to Backyard Hobbies piss-poor instructions and lack of pics/images.

Heres what Backyard Hobbies give:

And here are pics of my plane:
Tell me what you think...love to have some comments/advice on my construction. She doesn't fly, but I think a lighter lithium battery instead of the green 7 cell Ni-MH on there will make it possible.

I'm using everything that Todd's Models recommends with the Bugz Wasp kit. Here are the specs:
Motor: GWS RXB-C
Prop: EPP0760 and EPP0843
Battery: 7 cell 370mAh NiMh pack (7-370)
Receiver: GWS R4P (J sticker)
Servos: HS50 (x2)
ESC: Pixie 7P

Boy do I feel like Good. I ran across these pictures, which I have been asking for.
I think I will be able to do something as a result of the pictures. Maybe close anyway. It is like turn the lights on! Thanks again for your contribution. If you have any of the Cicada Please let me know. Pictures less distorted would be appreciated. I know that sometimes you just have to take what you can get and run with it. I will do my best. Thank you very much.
