The packaging is well done as is expected form Extreme Flight. Parts are seperated from one another properly and the wing is suspended in the box at each end. My kit came to me with nary a scratch from shipping.

Nicely done color scheme and the quality of the covering is as good as it gets. No sags, bubbles, or creases. The film btw is Oracover/Ultracote and the colors are Deep Blue, True Red, Transparent Yellow, and White.

Ok, for any of you who had thoughts that Chris Hinson was "blowing smoke" about not bringing in a product until the quality was as good as he wanted it to be need to take a look at one of these models. The quality of the kit cutting, parts fit, assembly, and covering is as good, and more than likely better as you will find anywhere. Look at the detail on this wing. The capstrips and sheeting are DOVETAILED! The joints not only look great, they are structurally superior to a butt joint, and if you look at one of the ribs you'll see an I-beam design that features a seperate piece of material that has the grain oriented vertically to increase strength instead of the lightening holes just being cut out.

Here's a couple of cool little details for you. Instead of soft engine bearers, this model has phenolic bearers that should be much more crush resistant than the soft crap that so many profile kits have. Ring any bells? The second pic shows the rudder and elevator servo lead tunnel at the bottom of the fuse. There's a piece of covering included to seal this up after the servos are installed. Cool!

There was a time when you threw away all the hardware that came in kits from the Orient. Not anymore. All this stuff is not only usable, most all of it can be considered high quality. The mains appear to be 6061 T-6, the wheels are good lightweight foamies, the horns are very good quality just like the ones on the Mini 3D. The tank, hinges, screws, all seem to be high quality. I have always had my preference on certain hardware items and sometimes make substitions, but all this stuff is good.

One complaint I had when I chose to finish out an Extreme Mini 3D was the lack of a good instruction manual. This one looks very well written with just enough pictures to help those along without a lot of experience.

Covering cut out for servos, wing and horz. stab.. The second shot shows more attention to detail on this airplane. The plywood around the servo holes is inlaid and surfaced so tight that you can't feel the joint with your fingertip, on any of them.

Now this is inovative. The tailwheel wire is bent into a triangle shape which slips in a triangular pocket at the back of the fuselage and is re-inforced with a plywood triangle. The whole arrangement seems to be plenty stout once it's all epoxied in place.

My gear of choice on all my profiles has always been Tetherite's Krazy Legs. These mains will take more punishment than any profile gear I have ever seen. Ray Randolph of Tetherite Plastics is an asset to the modeling community and a great guy to do business with. You can contact him about his products via e-mail. Tetherite@earthlink.net These mains make the Edge stand about an inch taller but that's ok, sometimes I fly off grass and I need a little more ground clearance and as far as weight goes, the Krazy Legs weigh exactly the same as the stock aluminum gear, 3.2 ozs.
