The reason you wanna put the switch opposite the exhaust is just to keep the goey mess out of the switch. I like to put the switch on the top of the wing so it's easy to get to.

I have to put plywood pieces inside to reinforce for the switch screws?

I like to use a little piece of 1/32" or 1/16" ply to backup the switch screws.

Ann,

Great job on your build! I have just figured out who Salmonbug is. He and I corresponded last year specifically about the Barbie Something Extra. My daughter fell in love with that plane. I am glad to see salmonbug back in circulation here on RCU. I apologize for the way he was treated before.

You are doing a wonderful job on Paul's plane. It is next on my list to build. Salmonbug is one lucky fellow.

Cheers,
John

salmonbug never left RCU, I remember there has been some tensions with some fellows last year and he said he would stop to post. those tensions came from poilitical reasons that are not welcome on RCU (that's what salmonbug think). Salmonbug (leroifort in the past) didn't liked the Pm he received when france and belgium decided to put the veto on the iraq war.
the anti european mind was noticeable on RCU he said.......
he stoped to post on his old acount(leroifort) and created a new one the day after (salmonbug). During the very begining of salmonbug's new acount he masked his country of origin.

that's the story

Yes, that's the name I remember (leroifort). Well, very good to know that he is still out there. I enjoyed his thread on the sig twin he built. I think it had two OS 40's on it. Keep building and keep having fun. I was at Matchlessaero's yesterday and saw his Burrito. I may have to go over to Paul's this week and pick one up. You guys have me so motivated about this plane.

Keep the pics comming.

John

not a lot of time to build this afternoon.....
I hope i'll go further ahead tonight.

I had a visit from a stupid guy (the kind of guy I see only when salmonbug is out of the house, it has been a pain to convince this guy I was not ready to leave my husabnd and my 3 daughters alone and migrate to japan)

do you have any photos of the covering process???? I know that you mentioned in a earlier post that you covered a lot of your husbands planes. I am asking because I just framed up my burrito and am ready to start the covering process- like you, this is the first kit that I have built- I need some guidance on how to cover it- I have a iron and thermometer and also a heat gun. you can see my post labeled "another bro, another burrito" under "fun flying planes and profiles"- any help will be greatly appreciated- best regards and congratulations on a super job building the burrito-

Yep, that's the one Ann. Sig Wonder. It was a very good thread Paul. He did a great job on the mods and built very quickly.

Ann, Since you stated that you have been covering Salmonbug's planes for a while, am I to assume that you did the "Barbie Plane"? I did a Sig 4-Star in pink and white along those lines for my daughter, but she liked yours more. She's 8 years old and loves to help out in the shop. Please pass alnog my regards to your husband. I'm glad to know who he is now.

John

I'll give your salutations to salmonbug.
Yes I made the barbie plane....... there is a pic of two of it in this thread..... It has been a pain to do it, but the result is funny. he is proudly hanging in the daughters room
(stephanie 6, marie 4 and amandine 3 give a kiss to your daughter)
I don't have any pic of my covering job on the burrito except the ones where I make the prosis logo templates.
the burrito isn't difficult to iron, as soon you iron everithing before hingging or gluing the surfaces
