What is the prop most used on a 3250 with a Jett Carb? I am using a J-tec muffler and at the moment a blend of regular castor blend 5% and straight st fuel.

I get 84-8600 with a 19x8w. I do like to put put around and prefer a good idle but occaisionaly I DO like to hover my 4*120 and need that nice reliable transition to full on.

Hi,

Thanks for writing....

Sounds like the engine is performing well.

Prop used does not vary from the stock carb. The engine will just run a bit better at low and midrange. Prop also depends a bit on the aircraft. On a 4-120, you may want a smaller prop. It will let the engine turn up a bit, and transition quickly. Maybe try a good ole 18x6 or 20x6. The diameter will provide a good idle and good slow speed performance, and the lower pitch will unload the engine a bit. You can put-put at a slow speed, running the engine a few hundred RPM higher - transition is not a problem. Should provide enough thrust for hover

As an example, on my VK scale planes (VK DR1 and Camel) both have .60 engines in them, and I turn 14-4 props. Pleanty of power for the application, and excellent better slow speed performance. Even though the engines can turn 14x6 props well, I use the lower pitch to allow the engine to get up off of the 'low' range. Even helps landing performance.

Dub will introduce his new .76L engine at Toledo. The engine is designed to turn big diameter props a bit slower, while providing exceptional midrange for 3D work and scale applications. Engine is in a "40" size case.

I hope this is helpful
