Status: offline 		I finally finished the Taco plans... Here they are in both dxf format and AutoCad 2000 format...

It's a .25 size fun fly that flys really well with a BB .25 engine. It was originally designed by Troy Smith (aka MiL) I did a little redesign with a tripple tappered wing and modified tail surfaces. I have a Irvine .25 in mine. Here's are rest of the specs:

Wing area: 450 sq in.
Weight: 2.25 - 2.5 lbs.
Wing Load: 12.8 oz / sq ft.

I've heard a lot of good about Irvine motors!
I just might have to get one to replace my MVVS .40 when it dies.

Great job on your Taco! I'd never guess it was midaired!

What motor are you running on your Menace?

i would really like to build one... but i would like to make it with an electric egine.
anyone know what e engine sould i choose for this one?

Then it would be a really nice flying little plane.

I've got so much to do already, but I wouldn't mind getting one of these little rascals going myself. I've downloaded the plans and put the project on my list as the next one to start on as soon as a building board gets cleared off!

I downloaded the plans and built a Taco 2 and it is one nice flying plane. It tumbles well and is stable also.

Status: offline 		That's neat. I'm also playing around with the Taco plans. So far the changes I've done are to lengthen the fuselage slightly and move the fin and rudder back so I can make the elevators more "full" and get more leverage out of the rudder for knife edge and serious yawing stuff. I'm going to leave the wings constant chord on mine for simplicity but I like your tapered wings. I know that's the way to go ultimatley. But for my first go at one of these I'm just going to stay with the 36 inch straight wing.

Oh, and I'm doing the fuselage up as a sort of built up profile.

I'll post up jpg's in a few days when the plans are done.

After all we find lots of different flavour Taco chips at the stores so why not different flavours for flying......

I don't have photos yet. I used HS 81's for the ailerons and throttle and HS 225's for the rudder and the elevator. I just used metal push rods down the side of the fuse and put the electronics in bays on the underside of the wing. I should have used pull pull to save weight, but maybe later. It came in at 3 pounds or just under with a TT 36.

Status: offline 		I would also like to give a big thanks to Paul for posting the plans for the Taco 2.

A friend and I just started framing up two of em last week end and it has been a fun experience so far. This little plane looks like it will be a blast to fly.

The only bummer for us is that we'll have to wait till spring to fly them, it's starting to get pretty cold in northern Wisconsin.

Speaking of big dogs spinning..... I think Blackbird has a big dog that does some kind of flat spin

Hey Tipover, I agree the balsa is nice, I think it's because you got it for us

I don't know about that Cub, I'll have to find out when I go over to his place on Saturday. I'm going to finish the wing on the Taco, so I'm caught up with Don. I think you should stop by and harass him about the Cub, I'll be there shortly after 5.
