Is it too late to jump into this thread???

It's deteriorated to quite a mess, but I can contribute a lot...

Uh, my IQ is 131.

Let's see, Hovering F-22... you must be referring to the X-35 Ghost (aka Hoover). It's main advancement over Harrier (besides speed, range, load, looks- ok, not looks) is stealth technology. The only reason the Harrier is still flying in the US is we got 'em free to repay us for those mustangs. I do like the thing you do over there with the American language, though.

Speaking of looks, LF, you've changed... again. Nice AVTAR, but how many bodies DO you have?

The president of our club did have his 6XA memory wiped out when his cell rang at the field just prior to flight... saw it first hand. Couldn't replicate it, but it was enough to make me keep my cell at the flight box, where I can still hear it but it doesn't pose a threat.

"I have a 375 watt AM amateur transmitter operating on 3.88 Mhz and a neighbor or two can hear me plain as day on their TV up around 54 Mhz up to 800 Mhz !! They have also picked me up on thier telephones and answering machines !! "

Just a wee bit of front end overload??

Front end of a telephone ?
Actually ,the answering machines were picking up RF riding up the power supply line from the wall wart transformer. We had one neighbor who was getting the RF on the speaker leads of his extension speakers to his TV . The real point is the difference in operating frequency so often sited is usually not a major consideration .
A cell phone at 24 inches running 100 mw can create an RF field strong enough to do what others have described.(RARELY but POSSIBLY) The fact it is affecting circuits within the transmitter that are OUTSIDE of the RF section is the concern. When discussing RF problems inexperienced will look at how close the operating frequencies are and are unaware of the other factors involved.

Keep those PROLINES running

It's sunspots. I'm telling you all, the darned sun is responsible for all this mess!

I say, ban the sun! Troublemaking mid-sized star, anyway!.
