Hello all, I have some questions re: the HB FP e004 model..

Due to the swashplates occasionally breaking, is there a metal or stronger upgrade available?

Can the Esky head lock gyro (EK2-0704A) be used with this heli? If so, does it require the 3-in-1 control instead of the stock 4-in-1?

On a LiPo battery, what does the "15C, 12C, etc." rating mean?

Thanks in advance for any response, I appreciate the input!

HELP!!!
When the heli is turned on the main blades won't spin up. The servo's work and everything works right on the simulator. TX has been turned on first, then RX, then RX has been left until it has stopped flashing. That is all correct? Please help. Why wont the blades work?

I've got the same probllem. I've set the throttle position to zero, all the trims are centered and still can't get the blades to spin. The RX lights up as normal, red - flashing green - steady green. Help!

you're talking about the fp heli (004), so i'm not 100% sure if there's a metal swash out there for you. possibly one for a cx? not sure...

you can use any HH gyro. to use one, of the many options available, i suggest you pick from the following 2 options:
a-hacking your 4n1 (lower cost/higher labor/adds weight of an unused rate gyro)
c-buying a 2n1 and an rx (higher cost/lower labor/lighter without the unused gyro)

if you need more info on this subject, there are plenty of useful threads in the rcu eflight forums on adding hh to a blade cp.

15C/12C/... is the maximum discharge current rating. C is the capacity of the battery in Ah, and the units of the rating are in hours. so, if a 910mAh (0.91Ah) battery has a 15C rating, it can provide 15*0.91=14A maximum.

whew, r/c used to be so much simpler.

make sure your throtle trim is all the way down and throtle stick all the way down before you slowly start throthling up. if that does't work, get back to us.

i've ordered walkera parts to replace most of the rotor honeebee parts wich are way more fragile. i will post how that went when they arrive, but i don't forsee any problems. Parts aren't exacly equal because the bals links on the main blade holder and the rotor head are smaller than the walkera's counterparts, but i also ordered those from walkera.

I have a Honey Bee FP E004. Hobby Lobby sold it as a MK3 but I don't see that designation on it anywhere. Anyway......

It is very tail heavy when I hold it by the fly bar. The battery is as far forward as it will go. I added some weight to the front (3 washers 3/4" diameter and 1/8" thick) and that gets it a lot closer and makes it handle much better. Has anyone had the same issue with their HB?

I am in the early hovering stages so any improvement in handling characteristics is a major deal for me!!

Thanks

Does the motor spin up as if it's going to lift off, but the rotor blades just rotate slowly? If so, you need to find the swash plate and it's bearing and reach in carefully and squeeze them back together where till there is a slight "snap". THe bearing becomes loose in the swash plate and extends causing the pitch to stay flat. Let me know if this is clear to you. If not, I'll send some pictures..Ed

ok. disconnect the main motor. throtle up slowly and see if the tail motor runs fine on his own. then disconnect the tail motor and throtle up slowly. what happens?
