The Gyro will only help with the left or right turning of the heli. It will not make any corrections to the tilt, fwd, backward, left or right. Make sure you have moved the battery far enough forward to correctly balance the heli. I had to actually tape a large nut to the front of my 4 in 1 to get mine to level out. If you don't do this you will not be able to hover very well at all! When you hold the heli up by the fly bar, the skids should be level as it's lifted and set down. I've always considered myself to have pretty good hand eye coordination, but learning to fly a RC heli is something that really just takes time. Practice hovering and doing small "hops". Then you will eventually get better and better. I can now hover in my kitchen and land on the counter! A month ago I would have never thought I'd ever do that. Also be sure that you have trimed the setting for the gyro correctly. Set the gain and porportion correctly. I think there area a couple of posts on here to tell you how, or just read the instructions.

Good luck!

I have a honey bee king and replaced the brushed motor with an esky brushless 3100kv and a Phenix 25 esc. The problem is the tail doesn't seem to want to hold. If I slow down the head speed on the main rotor it's ok but when it picks up speed I loose the gyro or it won't hold. I'm using a 10 tooth pinion gear which was the same as the brushed motor. Should I be using a different size pinion gear?

Hi guys, I have a Honey Bee 4ch and I have a few questions:
Has anyone put a brushless motor in the Honey Bee 4? Both main and rotor, does it require a brushless ESC to use brushless?
Are there different canopy styles available?

Thanks !

Not sure if anyone can help with this one but, i was installing the superskids upgrade to Honey Bee FP. I had unplugged the main motor from the 4in1 controller to allow me to get better access to the screw mounting. When i had finished installing i accediently plugged the main motor back into the 4in1 with the wrong polarity, this caused the blades to spin in the oposite direction, i had full throttled the motor with the blades like this, i then realised the error and connected the motor back correctly to the 4in1, I even replaced the main blades, however the heli will still not take off, i replaced the original skids to make sure it wasnt a weight problem, and i have tried several fully charged batteries, the motor sounds like its spinning up to full speed and the blades are definately spinning at a speed that would have got it off the ground before but the heli is still only just going light on the skids, nothing more. Any ideas?

Thanks

It sounds like your motor is probably shot. The brushes in these motors actually burn out pretty fast. It will still sound like it's working, but it's just not putting out the same power that it was before. Running it backwards probably put too much strain on the brushes and burned them up. I would give a new motor a new shot. And don't go spending a ton of money on a high grade motor either. Just get an OEM one from www. slickzero.com or www.bphobbies.com. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

yeah, i also think that is a good idea, just try replacing the motor and see what it does. When you thought you ran the motor backwards, you were actually running it forwards =P By the nature of these heli's we all are running the motor backwards, which contributes to them being hot, and wearing out more quickly. That's just pretty much a triva fact though. No problem with hooking up the motor with reverse polarity though. The only thing is you said there was a sudden jolt from 0 to full throttle, that can cause the brush arms to bent or a chip of the brushes to come off, just beacuse of the splines in the commuator, especially if the brushes were seated the opposite direction that you were spinning them.

yeah, the falcon 40 and the walkera canopies will fit. I imagine the eflite's canopies would be pretty close, and pretty much any 300 sized fuse will fit as well.

About the brushless, yes several people have, but the main thing is that brushless will cost you probably close to double what that heli was in the first place, so not alot of people opt for that. Yes whatever you want to go brushless either the main and/or the tail will need a brushless esc. lemme know if you have more q's.

For all you guys who have been searching for a reliable source of (cheap) spares for the ESky Honey Bee (doesn't matter which model), these two UK based companies are the best - best prices, best communications, fast delivery, etc.

http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk

http://www.heliguy.com

I have bought from both of these outfits & had terrific service, they have a great spares backup service- Buzzflyer is my favourite!

& for you guys in the USA I hear this company are real good:

http://www.xheli.com

Have fun flying & don't get disheartened, even the best crash!!

Hi Everyone :
I wanted to post a question here being it talks about the E-Sky FP Heli, I have flown the CX-2 alot and have flown alot of Hel's on a RealFlight 2 Sim, and I would like to get the FP Heli but I would like to be able to get some flight time with it on my RF 2 Sim, does anyone now of a free download for it that will work with my RealFlight G2 Simulator.
I would like to also have a download of the Blade CP Heli if anyone knows of one for that heli too.
Thanks Everyone

I just bought an Esky Honey Bee and made a stupid nube mistake. Now I need to replace the flybar and a few other parts.

Can anyone tell me where to by parts? Also, Is there a simulator out there that will work with the transmitter that came with the unit?

If you own this heli...please provide any suggestions.

Thanks,

Tony

I think you're saying that when you turn on the transmitter, the LED's don't light up.

If that's the case, double check the placement of the AA batteries in the transmitter. They're not a real tight fit and might need some adjusting. (just wiggle them around some to ensure they're making good contact)

I just perchased an an Esky Honey Bee King II. I'm having problems with my ESC burning out during flight. I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing because I've now gone through 2 speed controllers and the same thing keeps happening. When I power up the heli the speed controller works fine and then suddenly it will smoke and I lose all speed control.

What am I doing wrong? I haven't altered any settings. I'm using stock parts including the stock battery and the ESC that comes with the RTF kit. Can anyone help me?

it might be the stock motor that comes with that heli. I'd upgrade it to the brushless if I was you. The motor overheats, and probably draws too many amps for that
