This is field box 3 for me. My first one was a wooden monster that held everything but weighed too much. My next one was a modified tool box but in my effort to lighten up I wound up having to carry the field box and a tool box.
I found the Black and Decker Master Cart at Home Depot for $29! CHEAP!
It is a rolling 2 part tool box. The lower section is perfect for fuel and batteries and also has plenty of room for props and a starter. The top of the toolbox comes off or stays on. It has all the compartments I need for the little stuff. It has a tray for my tools and is deep enough to carry my TX and Hitec field charger plus batteries. I carry so much because I fly at a sod farm in the middle of nowhere. If I don't have something my fly day is over. The pictures will show you what a great box this really is and the kicker is that it fits in the trunk of my Caddy (roof down) with my Knife. HOW MUCH MORE COULD I ASK FOR?!!!!

The front of the top box has a parts bin that detaches. This is where all the little stuff is kept. I have brightened up the bin so you can see it. Just slide the orange latch up and it comes right out with a handle.

Just pop up the handle to drag it to the car and the top box has little orange tabs that you can hook bungies up to.

And that's it. My ultimate field box. I should buy another after this one wears out in 20 or so years. Can you tell I'm excited?

Hi Billy,

Thanks for the photos on your setup. I have one of these "flightboxes" stashed away just waiting for me to find the time to fix it up. I remember walking up to the check out at Home Depot and seeing this thing for $29.00 and thinking that it would make a great flight box. So on the "impluse" I bought it...

Cheers!

Galen

Not any more heavy than my other field box and my tool box (for tools and RX). Plus it has wheels man. It's only heavy until I set it back down on the ground and roll away with my plane in the other hand. That's one trip I make to the flight line.
