Flew my Moki 135 powered F90 this weekend. Moki started first flip after several months hanging in the garage. Had a fairly violent 10 min flight with lots of full power high deflection spins. On landing which was slightly harder than normal, but not hard enough to break the plastic L/g bolts, the r/h elevator hinges broke completely. I think the middle hinge and gap sealing tape was holding the elevator on as it pulled out with some wood stuck to the hinge while the other two sheared off completely. I feel quite lucky I still have a plane. Rudder is already on hinge points and the elevators soon will be.

Agree on the upricght harrier stability issue. Has anyone tried taping straws or sticks to the centre of the outer l/e to make the wing stall more easily for hi Alpha flight?

I took a set of SFG's from a Funtana 50X and covered them yellow.

I then mounted them (they are removable) to the outer tips of the wings.

This took care of the harrier stability issues. The plane no longer rocks in high alpha and knife edges hold VERY easily.

Flew my F90 down in El Cajon yesterday while visiting inlaws for the TG holiday.

Moved the batt pack forward to get CG fore...landings where MUCH better (ballooning has been my biggest complaint about this model).

Of course, other abilities were hindered, flat spins, and harrier flight...awe gotta love this hobby...thank God it is just for fun.

Can you mount the ys 110 inverted or is it side mounted? Also, can someone recommend a soft mount to fit it that doesnt require to redrill the firewall. Thanks in advance.

Use the stock mounts and install the engine sideways, but do what is best for you.

hey guys, i'm running my F90 with a Saito 180 and wanted to know what you all thought of using a 3-blade wide prop instead of an apc 18x6w. I have a surplus of power so it shouldn't be a problem, yet i've never used a 3-blade prop for 3d. any thoughts or suggestion on what blade to use? also, has anyone found an 18x4W or are they just a myth?

i have a funtana 90, flew 1 1/2 yr ago w/os 120 w/pump, 16x4w. yeah, it was a dog. my field noise restrictions are at 96 db. i was told saito 150 or 180 would only pass w/ a 3 blade (maybe). i opted for a ys 110 & put the aircraft on a diet anywhere i can. this should be a good combo. i have been told the 110 should turn a apc 16x6 around 9400 rpm. can anyone tell me for sure that the 16x6 is the best prop for this? i only have one on hand and need to order more (i buy 6 packs from tower for $60) to fly with it next week.
almost 2 yrs ago, i heard that 6 7/8 was a good cg location. i wasn't able to do any real 3d, so i don't know for sure if it was best. kyle (from the video) wrote that he was at 7 1/2, but went to 7 1/4 to make it more precise, but was harder to prop hang. any suggestions here? with the ys 110, i have to pull/pull the rudder to get cg upto 7" or so.

my funtana is with a ys 120 that's the combo with a 16X6 screw prop and regular servos position, fly like a dream 3D.
I thing that if you do YS110 you may need pull pull sistem because of balance issue. But the prop of my preference is Master screw 16X6 I did 16x6W apc and I did not like it. You love this airplane.

Mine's got a YS-110 on it and it seems to do a good job of hauling it around. We're at 4500' ASL so we lose some performance but the 110 will swing the 16x6 APC in the 9500 RPM range here when it's peaked and I fatten it up to about 9000 RPM for flying.

Dave Shadel says that APC came out with a 16.5x5 prop specifically for the YS engine, but I've not tried one since I've never seen one available. The YS spun the 16x4 APC at well over 10,000 RPM and was a pain to mount since it needed an additional washer to account for the thin hub area, so I never flew the model with that prop.

I started with the CG at 6 5/8" and gradually moved it back a bit with the battery until it's trimmed like an IMAC bird i.e. a 45 degree inverted climb hands off. I don't play with 3D much and flew it mostly as a transition airplane from my trainer, it worked well for that with the CG moved back it will 3D better but they can be touchy to land as with most any model having an aft CG.

    1) OS 120 AX
    2) Supertigre G-2300
    3) GMS 120
WHich would you guys go with.
