Also, in the video the 2 stroke shoestring tip stalls, if he had the ys 4-stroke it most likely
would have pulled the plane back up!!! Perhaps not crashed?

sounds like we have the same interests in planes. i have the i20ax on a minnow. fast and fun. also had the 90fx with a jett muffler {w/toni setup} . had engine problems. so i threw a ys110 on it.wicked combo. have the jett90lx on my other toni. have a jett 60lx on my ultrastick 40.that 120ax on your u.s. 60 sounds interesting

Out of all the Toni's you have what one is the fastest?

YS 110 faster than the Jett.90?
You said the OS 1.20AZ blew your wings to pieces? Was it too fast? Faster than the rest?

Here is my OS 1.20 w/header and pipe...

On a note, My 1st OS engine, the Cylinder stuck or melted itself to the head of the engine!! not sure why.... It was used in my Funtana 100X, and had 30% Heli fuel (perhaps I got it hot).....

This new one works very well....... Jewelry case quality, and runs like a champ!!!!

Hi, have not posted here in a while. I crashed my first Little Toni, nothing left but the motor and landing gear. It was all my fault, the plane went where I pointed it, right into the ground. I am now buying another one, since I love everything about this plane. I have an OS 1.20 4-stroke not being used, and I'm going to try that in the Little Toni. I have read in this forum people using a Saito 1.25, but nothing about the OS 1.20 FS. If anybody has any input on this combination, I would appreciate it.

Hi,

I plan on running a YS91 ST heli motor with a Mac 2986 header and a 1190 (15cc) tuned pipe on a little tony. Has anyone else run this configuration?

Regards

Chuck

Guys,
I had a Little Toni and loved it! Now Im into 1/5 Warbirds and 33% IMAC. I have a Jett 90l with the header off-set and muffler pipe that is made for the plane. If you want a great deal at $225 plus shipping for the engine send me a PM.

This two year old "little Toni" has been upgraded with a Jett 90lx. It had a OS91fx that ran great. The Jett 90lx is awsome. You can hear and feel the power in this engine. This has to be the hottest glow engine I have ever had and a lot more power than the OS91.

Maiden flight on my little toni last week: flies great!!
Engine is a Saito FA125 spinning a 14x10 APC. With the tuned pipe we built, the engine revs up to 9.300rpm (9.000 with stock exhaust) on the ground.
So far, eveything is OK, the model is a blast to fly!!
Now I'm willing to try different props. An APC 14x11 is on the way, but I the best prop wuold be a 13x13. Does anyone have an idea where I can get such prop?
I was looking at a Bolly, but it seems they're out the business.
Any help is apreciated.
Thank you!
Marco

A DLE-20 would work great. The only problem you would face would be finding a gas tank to replace the glow tank. Be easier and quicker to just build another tank mount behind the existing. I have a saito 125 and mine came out tail heavy. Had to play with battery positioning to balance it properly.

Mike,

Thanks for the response.  Couldn't I just use the existing fuel tank and just change the stopper to one for gas?  The wieght of the DLE is slightly heavier than the 125 so maybe it might balance out easier.  What can you tell me about the flight characteristics?  I'm considering this for Christmas.

Dave,
I built a tray for a 14oz tank, it got the tank a bit closer to the CG and I didn't have a fuel feed problem with my ST 90 on a pipe.. With going with gas, you can put the tank where ever you want, there is a ton of room in the fuse.. I am still thinking about changing mine over to a DLE20 this winter, let me know how yours works out...

As far as flight characteristics, awesome!!!!! Plane is solid and crisp and just drops a nose on stalls, it looks great on the ground and in the air... Landing can be a bit hot, but mine takes awhile to come off pipe.. I just set up for a long low approach and bleed off as much speed as I can before touch down, long as you have a long field you will not have any trouble... Stay with the recommended throws, she is very touchy in the elevator, but that is how I like my pylon planes.. I plan on flying mine some more this weekend, here are some pics..

Use the Dubro brown stopper, it is the best one for gas.

Jimbo,

Great looking plane,  man this thing is talking to me.  Thanks for the advice.  I'll let you know how is goes with the DLE. This is going to my Christmas gift....so I won't get to it until Jan.  You may have your's on a DLE before I even start mine.

I plan on getting another one this winter, had a little miss hap with mine.. This is what they look like when you think your doing a high speed pass over the field and miss it by 5 foot. First time I ever tried landing at 120mph, didn't work out to well...........

Question for the crowd:
Mine was kind of a floater, took awhile to come off pipe and was tricky to land with any cross wind.. I was thinking of taking out some of the dihedral in the new one, would this help on the floating?

I need some advice. While dry-fitting the cowl, I noticed on the vent cutouts side the underside is very frail. There's not much room to glass from the inside and it would be messy too. Any alternative fix(es)? thanks v.
