I have never put one on a Maxx but I owned one years ago. It is a Thunder Tiger engine so you may have to use their clutch. As for using a maxx clutch, I am not sure if you can or not, I would think if you can on other .21's, you can on this one as well. Check out whoever deals in TTR parts though and you will probably find what you need there. Its the same engine that came in the RTR EB4 and Mirage Vspec.

thank you for the help. i got the engine for $81 brand new off of ebay. thats why i went with that one. if that engine didnt have such a low price i would of got a .18 fantom or trinity.

edit:i just looked at the thunder tiger engines and they have the .21 in a rs and another kind i dont remember they do have the same hp but i did notice that the case is difrent. so i thought maybe that it was thunder tiger's but ae bought it from them making thunder tiger have to design a new engine. tell if i am correct because i am confused on who makes first made this engine. ae or thunder tiger.
thanks,
Bryan

Hi, the TT.21/AE.21 are excellent engines and hold a tune very well, they are factory rated at 2.1HP at about 30.000rpm with a usable rpm range of 3000 to 38000 rpm. I have over a half dozen of these engines I run and I feel they make excellent power for a .21 size engine and most imporantly for me are simple, easy to tune and hold it well.

TT has 2 new .21 EVO race engines (long and short stroke) now too rated at 2.4HP

BTW, from what I have learned, there is a connection between T.T and O.S as far as their engine designs go. World renowned engine designer "Kaz Mihara" worked for and designed the engines for O.S up until the mid 90's and then went to T.T and was then designing T.T engines, this is why there are some simularitys between the O.S and T.T engines.
