I’m charging a GWS 7 Cel AAA, 8,4V 730MAH NIMH battery with 12V DC Great Planes Peak Charger, and having a strange situation.

The battery don't catch charge when I start charging it could, it complete the charging cycle, (about 75 min,) but it get a little charge. When I discharge the battery in the airplane, it gets hot then I start the charging cycle again and it works!!!, the battery finish with a full charge. Same cycle time.

Is this normal with Peak Chargers?, it is a battery problem or the charger.
