Ok , First ... the boat has a design that , I myself LOVE ! ( not that that part was important , but I wanted you to know that , since being a playboater .... looks has a LOT to do with my choices and not always speed . ) Now , the hull resembles a small micro-hydro they call the REDBIRD ... the REDBIRD not only is VERY well designed , but , also performs EXCELLENTLY . Now , someone else was getting one of these also , and I commented that I thought the motor was a Homelite 25 CC , to which , now ,after viewing the picture of the motor again , I noticed that it is not a Homelite . ( Homelite has a straight plug , where this one is angled . ) Is this important > Nope ..... to some it might be . It is also has a water cooled jacket , this is good ! And it has an electric water pump to keep the water flowing to the engine . THis is also good . ( but , make sure that you watch the pickup area for the pump and watch that it does not get clogged . Easy way to do this , is when the boat is running , watch where the water is expelled from the boat and try and keep an eye on it while running . I notice it also has twin rudders .... VERY good for a playboater . This way , you will be able to turn equally , both directions . Now , remember to grease the flex cable after each run before you put her away for the day , remember to recharge the batteries before each run .... ( and of course to cycle them too ) It also looks like it has a clutch , which is GOOD .... this means that you will be able to set the boat in the water without having to "toss" her in ( like nitros ) and is also safer ! Always do a radio check BEFORE puttin the boat in the water . Turn the Tx on , then turn on the receiver in the boat and check rudder , and check throttle control EACH time BEFORE launching the boat . I also do not see any floatation of any kind .... and if there isn;t any , get yourself some pool noodles and put them up in the bow and along the sides ( if you can fit them there ) . Another cheap way to make some floatation is with an empty pop bottle up unde the bow , Just make sure to secure it some way . It doesn't state if the boat stand comes with it , but if not , you can build one VERY cheap with PVC plumbing pipe and some pool noodles on top , for portection for the bottom of the boat . Always start the boat on the stand . Now ... do you have a form of retrievle ? A lot of folks use a fishing pole with a tennis ball at the end . Some use a small inflatable rubber boat , some a canoe , others a flat bottom jon boat , and what EVER you do .... do NOT rely on swimming for it ! Folks HAVE drowned ! Use one of the above mentioned ... Be safe ! The prop - well , it doesn't say , but by guessing , it looks like a Prather SS . Just remember to also sharpen and balance the prop . ( after you get the boat , let us know how she runs and we might be able to give you some tune up hints for the prop ) Now , for the most important part .... without this .... you might as well have not bought the hull ,if you do not plan on doing the next step .... HAVE FUN And lets not leave out - BE CAREFUL..... keep the fingers , legs , and anything else away from that prop ! And be considerate of others on the lake , pond , or whereeer you run . The boat is meant for playboating ... and is designed that way ( as can be seen with the way it is setup ) . This does NOT mean that it will not go fast ! I like the hull , and the setup ... and I hope you have LOTS of fun and are very careful and enjoy the heck out of her . COngrats on your new boat and keep us posted on how she runs and all . And if possible , post a video of her running . ANy problems after you get her ... post it here and just ask . ENJOY .. ( and FTR - yes ... I would get one of those .... )
